The best surprise of all would be if we can actual have a QB that can pass the ball. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Krenzel was a great winner, not the best passer. Belassari, well he just sucked. When we had Germaine we were a deadly offense.

no prevent (the win) defense?
Im with you here. I remember several games last year (NC State, K-State are the most memorable) where we would be well ahead of the other team when the fourth quarter rolls around, but then we start the prevent defense and the other team gets some confidence and almost beats us. I would be glad to see prevent gone.

Of course the actual Problem in those Games was the Prevent Offense... (Now way NC State shouldhave even had enough posessions to get back in that game)

AK, IIRC, didn't NCST's comeback start with a fumbled kick or punt by the Buckeyes? True, our O never put anyone away for good, but I think there was some blame to be shared in the NCST game.

What would I like to see? The fumblerooski.

Yeah, Santanio fumbled on a punt return. Krenzel threw a pick shortly there after. I actually got to watch that game for the 1st time last weekend. Being in Massachusetts at the time I heard it was 24-7 with something like 8 or 9 minutes left and couldn't imagine how they got back in it so fast. Can't have turnovers.

The Holmes fumble was outright bullshit...he was clearly down before the ball came out.

The subsequent Krenzel pick was one of the lamest passes I've ever seen in my life...Craig sure didn't use his molecular genetics head on that play.

N.C. State had no business being in that game.

I've been wanting a wicked-awesome passing game for a long time. Just a passing game where the QB drops back and opposing teams/fans shudder knowing that the knife will get jabbed in them if the QB has the open window.

This would be a good thing.

Good thread btw.

Dear Mr. Genie: Three wishes, please.

1. A 1500-yard rusher.

2. A Heisman contender on defense.

3. An Orange Bowl blow-out win over USC.

Is that so much to ask?

I could live with one out of three; two would make me a very happy camper; and for all three you can have my wife, my car and my PlayStation2.

[Wait a minute -- scratch that part about the PlayStation.]

Okay, here's my Christmas list:

1. A DOMINATING, WELL-COORDINATED O-LINE...with DEPTH! (If we see that, all of the other things that people wish to see from the offense will fall into place as the components are already there.)

2. A punter to emerge who will keep the heat off of the "D" when he kicks the ball.

3. A healthy Lydell Ross who has a great season and shuts his detractors' mouths.

4. A solid (oh, say 52-7) pounding of those twerps from Huntington.

5. Watching Lloyd Carr whine and bitch at the refs as he watches his previously UNDEFEATED team get clobbered by the Buckeyes.

6. Everyone to stay healthy for the season.

There...that ought to do it.
