Our church has no bells.
OZone has an article today profiling their three leading candidates to take over when St. Andrew retires: Krebs at BGSU, Archie, and Yow at Maryland. I'd say that it pretty much has to be Archie. Are there other candidates than these three?

Holebrook will probably go for this guy.

I will throw a surprise out there and say Jim Tressel. With his skills in motivating people and his extreme organization I feel he will be a good candidate...even though he will still be HC. Maybe he will feel he needs to get out of coaching while the going is good. It would be a first of a HC retiring on his own schedule...

OZ says he's scheduled to retire in 2005. I don't know differently. He could decide to re-up, I guess. That would be my preference, but that bitch in the president's office doesn't ask my advice.
Does it? Oh, I didn't know that. I really don't go there very much. It just seems to me that he enjoys what he does, except for the whole MoC thing. I too would like to see him stay for a little longer.

Well of cource Archie is gonna be the centimental favorite with 90% of the people but I really don't think Karen Holebrook will feel the same.
He is more than a sentimental favorite. His qualifications are numerous and impressive:

1. Currently leading the university's Alumni Association
2. Was, prior to his current post, the Associate Athletic Director- serving under and reporting directly to Andy Geiger--- He learned the AD business from AG.
3. He is a 'company man'--- He KNOWS Ohio State, he LOVES Ohio State, and he understands and respects the traditions AND expectations at Ohio State
4. He would be a high profile name and would be able to extend greater influence in areas where AG is not so able- i.e. Recruiting

I'm not saying he should or would get the job or even that he would want it. BUT, to say he would only be a sentimental favorite, that degrades his accomplishments and qualifications as an administrator.

I think you misunderstood my original post... sorry if it was a little misleading. I'm not saying that he is ONLY an sentimental favorite because I know of his accomplishments. I was just saying that everyone in Buckeye Country would LOVE to see Archie as the AD except for maybe Karen Holebrook..
