Next Generation Console News: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U

The New Yorker: The Xbox One and PlayStation 4: Waiting for the Right Moment

Conclusion:

"To buy a next-generation gaming console now is ultimately to buy a bundle of possibilities that may or may not unfold the way you hope, even if one’s impulse is to believe it will get better; this fundamental optimism is why one buys into any platform, whether it’s a console or a tablet. There’s hardly a reason to not be optimistic about the future of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. But there’s hardly reason to buy one now, either."

I'm thinking about getting it for the kids. Despite what the Xbone psychophants will say (remember the XBox Kinect/PS whatever it was called was a direct response to the Wii), Wii U has a legitimate market and the Mario game does look like fun.
It would have a bigger market if they actually made enough games for it.

It looks like gran turismo is taking a page out of Forza 5's book. Crap like this is killing gaming for me. I paid $60 for a game already, why do they need to nickle and dime me for every little thing?

500,000 In-Game Credits (£3.99/€4.99)
1,000,000 In-Game Credits (£7.99/€9.99)
2,500,000 In-Game Credits (£15.99/€19.99)
7,000,000 In-Game Credits (£39.99/€49.99)

...the Jaguar XJ13, which costs 20 million credits. You can grind for it in traditional Gran Turismo fashion or you can buy it straight away if you drop £119.95 - that's the total you pay for two packs of 7m credits, two packs of 2.5m credits and one pack of 1m credits.

Picked up the PS4 this morning and jumped into Battlefield..looks night and day better looking then the 360 version (shocking)..64 person conquest had his laggy moments but is a completely different experience then 24 person games, makes team play all the more important as those numbers will overwhelm tanks/choppers in a big hurry..let alone guys who fall behind their group or run off like idiots.

Also tried the Fifa demo, after being thoroughly disappointing with the current gen version this one seems to play much more smoothly. It's hard to describe but the 360 version felt like you were controlling players that were very heavy or clunky...felt like there was much more control on the demo..would obviously need to see how it plays online.

All you Xbox One fellas are about to add another Xbox Oner to the group! Picked up Battlefield 4 in preparation, and plan on picking up Madden and Forza in the near future.

Would also like to pick up FIFA for a discounted price (not 60 fucking dollars). I have a 50% Used Game coupon for GameStop, so I'm praying I can find one of Madden, Forza (not likely), or FIFA used.
