Jets center Nick Mangold, right, consoling Chad Pennington, faces former OSU teammate Anthony Schlegel this weekend.

CINCINNATI -- Nick Mangold said Anthony Schlegel has a thick head. The New York Jets center meant it as a compliment.
Mangold went against the Bengals linebacker for three years in practice, two years at Ohio State and last year with the Jets. He knows what he's in for Sunday when the two struggling teams meet.

NFL Buckeyes Combined Stats for 07/08

I totaled the combined stats of all the active Buckeyes in the NFL for this season. I probably should have done this after the Super Bowl, but I was bored today so here they are.

Offensively
  • Passing: 40/76 452 yards 2 TDs
  • Rushing: 60 attempts 214 yards 1 TD
  • Receiving: 292 receptions 4221 yards 30 TDs
Contributing Players: Troy Smith, Joey Galloway, Antonio Pittman, Ted Ginn Jr., Santonio Holmes, Drew Carter, Anthony Gonzalez, Ben Hartsock, Mike Jenkins, Mike Vrabel

Defensively
  • Tackles: 1014 total tackles
  • Interceptions: 16 INT 222 yards 1 TD
  • Sacks: 31.5 total sacks
  • Forced Fumbles: 16 total FF
Contributing players: Will Allen, Tim Anderson, Rodney Bailey, Bobby Carpenter, Nate Clements, Na'il Diggs, Mike Doss, Dustin Fox, Simon Fraser, Chris Gamble, AJ Hawk, Donnie Nickey, Kenny Peterson, Ryan Pickett, Quinn Pitcock, Jay Richardson, Nate Salley, Anthony Schlegel, Darrion Scott, Will Smith, Shawn Springs, Mike Vrabel, Donte Whitner, Matt Wilhelm, Antoine Winfield, Ashton Youboty

*There will likely be additions as the playoffs continue, as AJ Hawk, Ryan Pickett, Matt Wilhelm, Terry Glenn possibly, Bobby Carpenter, and Mike Vrabel are still playing

Overall, I would say there are not many colleges that can boast as good of overall numbers in the NFL. The Bucks passing and rushing totals are pretty low, but with Troy getting a better shot and Beanie in the future as well as Pittman, these should both go up. :osu::oh:
