NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

No, he doesn't. He doesn't give a shit about them at all. That's my point.

If the NFL were that invested in outcomes, the most valuable and popular franchise they have would've made it through the divisional round at least once in the last 23 years.
You're missing my point. I don't think they did anything....I'm just saying your "proof" is not proof at all.

It's like saying the SB was clearly fixed because the NFL front office people are jealous of LAs weather. No it wasn't fixed, but also no...they don't care about LA weather. It's not a reason.

What exactly do you think I'm trying to "prove"?

Again, never said the NFL hates the Patriots. The deflategate drama doesn't jive with the narrative that they're the league office's sacred cow either. It's neither, they're just successful. Way it goes.

The NFL wanted the Patriots, hated by everyone and with bad blood with Goodell, against the Rams, the team with no fans that took away their other franchises' ability to dangle a move to Los Angeles over every city in order to get free stadiums?

Shitty outcome doesn't equal conspiracy.

The same guy that burned cheating evidence in the alley.
The # of calls Patriots get are unbelievable. I stopped watching NFL after their playoff run last year.
And LA was gifted into this so Gooddell could have two big market teams.
Everyone may hate Patriots... but like ESPN's ratings... controversy and dislike breeds attention.

You made a statement and then offered up things as "proof". "Proof", "support", "reasons"..........whatever the fuck you want to call it. Stop getting hung up on semantics. You said this, sarcastically:
The NFL wanted the Patriots, hated by everyone and with bad blood with Goodell
Which is essentially saying "The NFL didn't want* the Patriots in the SB because everybody hates them and because Goodell doesn't like them."

Those aren't supporting arguments for your supposition that the NFL didn't want the Patriots in the SB. IF they preferred one team over the other (they don't).....what the fans of the NFL like wouldn't be a reason to choose that team. Goodell supposedly having bad blood with that team wouldn't be a reason (Goodell isn't the NFL). I'm not disagreeing with your point that things weren't fixed....I'm saying your evidence isn't what you think it is.

*"didn't want" as in didn't have a strong preference either way.....not "didn't want" as in actively preferring one over the other.

Goodell is an extension of the owners. He's an empty suit that fans can hate and bitch at instead of directing shit at the people that actually run the league.

There's no sinister Pats cabal in the league office. They just have the best coach ever and a QB that takes electrolyte enemas. Move on.

The owners decided to burn Pats evidence in the alley?
Goodell and Jerry Jones are on great terms?
