NFL to play 2010 Pro Bowl before Super Bowl

Still irrelevant.

I don't really care.

(Not meant to be an insult to the OP)

Wattup, OP here..:tongue2:

I don't care either, and haven't watched a Pro Bowl in years. The Browns don't exactly fill up the island, for starters.. and yes all-star games are definitely irrelevant.

I think this is just a stupid move by the top-run sports league out there. The NFL dominates. Maybe they also realized that the Pro Bowl doesn't matter, and can move on to better things earlier, like the off-season and a rookie cap.

But for their efforts they are removing many would-be players in this game.

I've tried to watch the Pro Bowl.. just can't. I find the skill competitions more interesting. Pretty sad. :shake:

They are removing players. Can't argue with that. Not sure why they'd want to exclude the players from the two best teams in the league.

i agree 100% - its cool to watch the kickers try a "horse" type game with each other and the QB passing stuff is cool too, but the game is just unwatchable

I like the idea of a cheerleader game. Go 7 on 7 flag football with an all-star team of NFL cheerleaders wearing skimpy clothes. I'd buy that for a dollar.

The Pro Bowl game can go away for all I care, but it would be good for the players if you could find a skill competition for all positions. 1 on 1 blocking drills between the OL and DL would be interesting. If the OL protects a dummy qb for 3 seconds they win if not the DL wins.

ESPN - Report: 2010 Pro Bowl to precede Super Bowl

This is pretty whacky...

So I imagine the Super Bowl teams pull their players out of the game at the last minute, and the guys who just lost their conference title game are hurried out to the islands?

One thing at a time, there, Rog..

Doesn't change anything else that has been said in the thread but it will be played in miami since the superbowl is in miami then also.

I do agree with what most people have said, not really interested in watching the game and other people are going to get pulled out of the game also.

They could keep the "pro-bowl" but get rid of the game. If they are going to move it to the place of the superbowl each year anyway, just have some events and stuff to reconize the best players and be done with it.

Of course abc/espn would hate this because then they could go on for days about who didn't make the team etc.

I love the idea of moving it to the Super Bowl site and playing it the week before the Super Bowl. That way a grass field has an even better chance of getting torn the hell up before the game that actually matters even starts. :smash:

There shouldn't even be a Pro_Bowl game, Period.

The mid-season ALL-STAR games in baseball and basketball, especially basketball are entertaining. But, the nature of the game itself allows it to be.
Hoops can be made fun with the run and gun style, the alley-oop dunks, and the clowning of the players. In baseball, remember the "wild-pitch" that Randy Johnson threw about 20 feet behind John Kruk? That was downright hilarious, as were Kruk's next three swings. In football, how can the game be made fun? Not much fun in having 320 pound dudes smashing heads. Maybe somebody will try the "Longest Yard" play. Imagine Ray Lewis being allowed to rush the QB untouched up the middle, only to find a 70MPH piece of pigskin ripping at his scrotum and testes. Come to think of it, if somebody could pull that one off, I'd definitely watch it. Until then, the game is completely useless. How enticing is an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii for a guy that makes $10,000,000 a year?

Peace.
