It's too bad he never made it back to OSU for another visit, that could have made the difference.

Still, it's early and lots of things can happen in this recruitment and with the class as a whole.

Dagnabit!!! This definitely stinks. I am certain he knew how badly we wanted him. And I am certain he knew how badly we still wanted Gibson. That's a tough balancing act for the staff. No other way to put it. At least he will stay in conference if he is a PSU
guy. I know the whole adage about not wanting great players to go to your competitors but I can't help but think we need a boost for the conference as a whole. If Franklin can do his part to make that happen and set us up for some great matchups in the future so be it. We MUST land Gibson though. Flat out.

Committed to PSU. Watched his press conference and seems like a really sharp kid. When asked about Penn State, he said that he "expects them to come in and dominate the B1G." If Franklin loses a lot this season, I would bet that a lot of these kids will be play their college football elsewhere.

While that would be nice, I'm less optimistic that will be the case.

Even if they have an awful year he can just change it to dominating the conference next year when they're on the team.

Once they've bought in to the excitement, it will take a few years of mediocrity for reality to sink in. Once again, see Hoke at Michigan the past three years for an example.

Exactly, this is a classic case of a new coach coming in and raising excitement levels of the fan base and recruits. Similar things are happening in Austin, TX at UT for Charlie strong as well, maybe not to the same extent as PSU but similar, as did cHoke when he first got to scUM. Funny how kids don't realize that when they first get to college that they won't win every game and they're only "worm $hi* freshman"(quoted so eloquently from the cinema classic: The Program)
