Non alcoholic Tailgating at Youngstown State games

Once i was back up in Youngstown for a visit and i heard on the local news station that non-alcoholic drinks were not allowed at the tail-gate partys anymore. I find that hard to believe. Is this still true. Or has it been permitted now. I knew that idea was kicked around at the tail gate parties on campus at Ohio State when they had Karen Holebrook as president. Just asking.

The campus of any state university is considered public property. Open containers of alcohol are illegal on public property in the State of Ohio. It was never about Holbrook - no matter how much she was ripped on message boards about it - or at the discretion of the university.

For years, schools looked the other way but it was never legal. After some incidents around - but not at - OSU earlier this decade, the legislature came down on universities to enforce the law.

State university = public property
open container on public property = illegal in Ohio

Blame your congressman/woman.

Please. If this is true it's a joke.

They told me once that I couldn't bring liquor into Sanford Stadium. I can't count the number of 5th's of Brown Water I brought into games.

Rules were meant to be broken.
