Northwestern Wildcats (Official Thread)

Michigan won't need to concern themselves with that, as they will not be playing in that game.

They've scored 6 more points than they've given up. They could, theoretically, lose to Illinois and Minnesota (not likely), end up 6-6, give up 30 more points than they've scored, and become Big Ten champions. Ha!
Not to start an argument about playoffs and auto-bids, but this is why I hate the idea of auto-bids.

SKULL SESSION: EDITORS' TALK BRETT MCMURPHY'S STORY, OHIO STATE TICKET PRICES GOING UP, AND TERRELLE PRYOR RELEASED

NORTHWESTERN BRINGING TO STUDENTS.
Northwestern hasn't claimed an outright Big Ten title since 1995 – before any typical student was even born.

So if the Wildcats pull off the upset of whichever team they meet in the title game, it will be literally a a once-in-a-lifetime event for the student body, and Northwestern is making sure they all get a chance to witness it, free of charge.

From the Chicago Tribune:

Northwestern is giving its sports-fickle student body two extra reasons to attend the Big Ten football championship game.

The school will provide undergraduate students a free ticket and transportation to the Dec. 1 game in Indianapolis. Students have to respond by Wednesday. Associate athletic director Paul Kennedy said Monday that students will receive a mass email about the offer with a link to accept it.

Good for them. I hope there's an army of Northwestern students there as a result.

Athletic director says 45 percent of Northwestern’s student body is going to Indy for the Big Ten title game

Northwestern has been ticketed to the Big Ten title game for several weeks now and there’s been quite a bit of interest in the school making their first trip to Indianapolis for the game.

How much interest? Well longtime Chicago Sun Times columnist (and NU alum) Rick Telander spoke to athletic director Jim Phillips and let’s just say that nearly a majority of the school is donning purple and heading to the game next Saturday.

“I thought maybe we’d get a thousand students,” Phillips said. “But over 3,500 are going. We have 58 buses from a dozen companies. I don’t think there’s a bus left in Chicago.

“That’s 45 percent of the student body going.”

Yes Northwestern is a small private school but it’s still pretty impressive to see what kind of support the team is going to get at Lucas Oil Stadium — especially considering they’ll play either of the Big Ten’s two mega-fan bases in Michigan or Ohio State.

After watching in Indy... I'm convinced he's repurposed all the non-starters into a male spirit squad.
Come to Northwestern where you can be a cheerleader for 2 years and maybe play football.

Did you get a look at the female cheerleaders? Not that I’m one to say nice things about tsun cheerleaders, but daum they looked good in comparison to the Northwestern girls. Yikes.

apparently Thorson was upset at us scoring our last td (pass to JK). waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Yea it’s real fun for everyone in the conference to point at the 29 point loss to Purdue and laugh out loud, exclaim how overrated tOSU is and all that. But get in the championship game against tOSU and prepare the sandy vaginas.

Fuck the whole lot of ‘em!
