Where's YOUR Gold Pants?

I would LOVE to see this kid get a shot at being a BUCKEYE! He's from my school in Hawai'i (PUNAHOU) and he's currently on Academic Scholarship; which means a lot at a school like Punahou. I think a lot of what is said in the article in reference to his faith and values can be found here with JT and the Buckeyes program. Just give JT a chance to talk to this kid and his parents and see what happens...

As far as I know I'm the ONLY one from Hawai'i to wear the Scarlet and Gray which is a shame really. It'd be nice to have at least one more kid from Hawai'i become a Buckeye and especially from Punahou!

Perhaps after the UW game or something. Stop off in Seattle and then head home to watch Te'o rip it up!

I'll definitely join you for a Punahou game.

Use your connections with the staff and give them a heads-up. Next time you give Archie some macadamia nut chocolates, mention Manti to him...

well his athleticism was impressive for his freshman year but i wasn't that impressed after that. his sophmore year on the other hand looked a lot better. he seems to read the ball better, played against better competition(looked like it), and improved somewhat on the form tackling. with that said he still goes too much for kill shots although its a highlight video so who knows there. i would like to see more breaking down with form tackling than shoe string tackles. i can't rag on him much though because he looks faster than his 4.8 scout time, has great size, and he will only be a junior so for his age his performance is very promising. the only thing to really call into question is the challenge he is getting in hawaii but the teams don't look too bad. he just needs to keep up the good work and improve on the finer aspects of the game and follow it through with good camp stats and he will be in excellent shape. my guess would be if he ends up being great that he would end up at USC but thats just my guess.

No matter how good kids from Kahaku (his hometown) are, BYU almost always is the mainland school to beat because of the heavy Mormonism in Kahuku.

I'll put our best HS teams in Hawai'i (St. Louis, Kahuku, Kamehameha and may be Punahou) up against ANY Ohio team or for that matter in the Nation. St. Louis played De LaSalle a few years ago really tough eventually losing by 14pts. One thing is for sure; when mainland teams play one of these schools they'll know they were in a dogfight aftewards...they'll FEEL IT! One coach described playing the Hawai'i teams is like; "BEING HIT BY A MACK TRUCK"!

Notre Dame quashes fans' efforts to sway football recruit
School quashes students' effort to sway prospect

Manti Te'o, a Honolulu native and a prized linebacker recruit in the Class of 2009, will make a visit to Notre Dame this weekend.
And the Irish had to take action to ensure Te'o can make a return trip if he so chooses.
Notre Dame students hatched a plan to distribute about 8,000 leis outside Notre Dame Stadium at Saturday's game against Syracuse in honor of Te'o's visit, posting that plan on a fan Web site.
The problem? A concerted, organized effort such as that could be construed as an NCAA violation in which Notre Dame is publicizing a recruit's visit to campus and encouraging that recruit to attend the school. Once the Notre Dame compliance office received a missive about the plan, it bid the idea aloha.

"I would hate for a prospect and for our coaches to lose the opportunity to recruit a kid, or have a kid come here, by some external person's actions," Karwoski said. "That would be the absolute worst."

I guess the ND fans won't be getting "leid".
