QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

Didn't get to watch the game but from those highlights above seems like a tough kid that can keep on pushing through adversity. Made some good plays and had good vision running the ball. Can't wait to see him progress over the next few years.

This Cedar Hill Texas team is pretty dirty. Every time they get a hit on Tate, they make sure to get a couple more after the whistle. They've done it on several other plays but it's really obvious (except to the refs) on Tate.

Might it have had anything to do with Tate's tweets at them during the week(s) leading up to the game? High school kids don't necessarily handle being called out and then shown up that well. Definitely not saying they were in the right and not putting Tate down, but they might have had some extra chippiness for this game.

It's high school football with kids that are not mature, the chippy stuff happens everywhere. That being said, it does not make it right. My take on the game... Haskell moves extremely well laterally and takes on double teams with ease, and in doing so freed up his cousin (#10) to roam and make big plays. They didn't have many running lanes. Martell is a more impressive runner than I realized. He runs the read option with incredible efficiency and sells that fake better than most collegiate QBs. He wasn't in a hurry to pull it, and when he did most didn't realize it. I was extremely impressed by his running ability. I think missing Tyjon last night hurt their passing attack immensely, it was obvious they were lacking that threat underneath, but their running attack more than made up for it. Woody would have been proud at the way they ran to set up everything else. In the end they wore down Cedar Hill and it was impressive to watch. Hopefully we will get to see them more on ESPN.
