Off to Lahaina!

I'm heading over to the quaint little port town of Lahaina on the island of Maui for the weekend to get away from shit here. Thus, to preclude any rumors as to my demise, I'll be sans BP for about 48 hours. I'll toss back a few locals brews for ya'll.

I am so envious of you. A sabbatical in a quaint Hawaiian Village. That sounds about as good as it gets.....Enjoy yourself.

We will be gone for a while as well. Going to a quaint little town in Illinois (doesn't quite compare, does it?) for a week for our daughters national fastpitch tournament. Leaving Sunday.

That's a nice little town. I ate at a good place there, but I forget the name. Why don't you hike on Haleakala? I love that place.

Looks like Kashimir found out who it was and took care of it.

Anyway, the trip was just what I needed. I wore my 2002 NC locker room T-shirt and got a "Go Bucks" from an older lady who was a vendor at the local Banyan Tree swap meet (said she was from somewhere in Ohio that started with "G"...forgot), and then about an hour later as I was walking down Front Street (the main shop and restaurant street) I passed a young guy who was with his family and was wearing the exact same T-shirt as me. As I approached him I said "nice shirt" and he smiled back and "same to you!". I then told him as we passed that we're going to make another run at the NC this year and gave the thumbs up and said "Damn right!". Yes, even in Lahaina, Maui, Buckeye fans abound, and what was even better was that I didn't see a single item of Michigan paraphernalia the entire time.
