Buckeyes trying to avoid deja vu all over again

NEW ORLEANS -- The speed thing you can accept. Jim Tressel's Columbus Beef Trust has been told for years that it is slower than a broken watch. At least when it comes to that big, bad, blew-by-you SEC speed.

Ohio State coaches have all but admitted it in their preparations for Monday's national championship game. In December, they installed a practice drill called "SEC Tiger Drill." That's not too obvious is it?

"I think it's our coaches saying, 'Maybe they are faster than us. Maybe we do need to work on our speed,'" said Ohio State offensive tackle Alex Boone.

How many programs have a "speed coordinator?" Former Olympic sprinter Butch Reynolds helped put together the drills. Practices are twice stopped at random so the team can run sprints the width of the field.

"I wish we would have done it last year," defensive back Malcolm Jenkins said.

Pouncing on the speed angle this week is easier than a hooker a block off Bourbon Street. There is at least a kernel of truth to it. Conclusive video evidence shows that Florida wiped Ohio State off the field a year ago in the BCS title game.

Cont'd ...

You know I've participated in this thread, and relished in the hate for the most part. But after reading the latest Dodd article, he makes a good point at the end. We still have to prove we belong.

We can talk a big game about being hated and disrespected nationwide and in the media. We can continue to argue about the myth of SEC speed and the fact that the Big Ten has a strong record against the greatest conference ever.

But we are still 0-8 against the SEC. And if we don't take care of business Monday, we'll be 0-9. These jackasses will pat themselves on the back. We'll try to bury our heads in the sand. And we'll go through the same routine next year.

So let's forget about the masturbators. After Monday, someone will have their say. And let's hope its Ohio State shutting these motherfuckers up.

SEC speed...blah blah blah

Dodd is just another idiot spewing out of his piehole again.:bonk:

Opinions are like assholes. maybe when one of these guys comes up with a different reason for the 0-8 record, other than speed, maybe the team just flat out played better that day or they were more mentally prepared or the gameplan put in place was executed to perfection or the coaching staff didn't make the proper adjustments or something......but this SEC speed thing is that same dead horse they've been kicking for years!

ESPN still sucking USC's schlong. I am getting so sick of this shit.

ESPN - Buckeyes or Tigers need to play like a national champion - Columnist

I hate to break this to the Buckeyes, and the Tigers, and that drunk dude with horse dung on his hands, but I'm not sure Monday night's matchup is really THE national title game. Just because it says so on the TV promos and the BCS crystal trophy doesn't necessarily make it true.

To begin with, are Ohio State and LSU even the two best teams in the country? I'm just asking.

Sorry, but there's a reason why this year's BCS championship doesn't feel like a true national title game. And that's because there are too many questions about the two finalists, and too many other qualified candidates for the game.

Earlier in the week, Georgia turned formerly undefeated Hawaii into pineapple pulp during a 41-10 Sugar Bowl victory. And USC and Traveler just finished leaving hoof marks on Illinois during the 49-17 Rose Bowl win. That's the same Illinois team that beat Ohio State in Columbus.

If you want to be a national champion, don't lose to fucking Stanford (Ala USC), and don't lose by 3 TD's to fucking Tennessee (Ala Georgia).

And I love how they conviently drop the Big Ten referee scandal, that helped Illinois blow up Ohio State's undefeated season, out of the back of their heads. yeah there was the fumble that would have put the score at 14-0(same as usc did, wink wink) instead of 14-7 but then the non holding calls on a tackled verne and the pick play for their winning score surely helped. Do these guys even watch football outside of the bowl games?????
