If you click on the amazon link on the front page at the bottom left there is a little "meter" there, but that is only what has been donated through amazon and not paypal. Currently I am estimating that we have about $1300 or so and need about $8000 total according to BrutusMaximus

Don't forget, some of us sent a check directly to Clarity.

At some point Clarity could give us a total.

I feel this thread should be tacked for a while. All these guys deserve the recognition and it should be kept in front of all those who come to this site.

Yes, props to all involved especially during these past few weeks of madness of recruiting. What more can be said? I would like to say that all the posters thank you for your hard work and dedication to help us with our fascination of The Ohio State University.

Thanks to ALL the folks that make this site great. There are a lot of folks (staff and members alike) that give a tremendous amount of energy to make BuckeyePlanet what it is. I'd just like to add Hubbard to the list of folks already mentioned. He's been busting tail behind the scenes in Clarity's absence. Folks like him (and Clarity for that matter) take care of a multitude of issues that no one knows about or hears about, but keep the site running and improving each day.

I'd like to take a moment to thank (in advance) everyone else that will step in to make this site even better in the future. Clarity (and many members) views this place as a community project. A place where the group decides the direction, the features, and the depth and level of commitment and excellence. A place where many people working together can become as good (if indeed not better) than a small group of people running pay site. The thought was never to compete with those places, but to be an addition to the Buckeye community. In that regard, we've come a LONG way in a very short time. It never fails to amaze me what a group of motivated Buckeyes can do when they band together.

So, I look forward to the future at BuckeyePlanet. There will be some growing pains along the way (new server for example), but there will also be growth by leaps and bounds. And I'm not talking about membership, but about the added functionality, coverage, content and Buckeye spirit that will occur as more folks decide to actively make this site better.

The door is open folks. If you feel like you can add to BuckeyePlanet in some way, please do so. That could be as simple as always posting in a manner that makes us proud to be Buckeyes and displays Buckeye pride and class. It could be that you feel the need to help out with a particular forum. Maybe you want to write blogs/articles for the site. Could be you're connected to OSU information or items for the Rumor Mill. Maybe you have design or programming/coding skills that you'd like to put to use. It might be that a simple (or not so simple) suggestion to improve the site is what you want to add. The possibilities are really only limited by our membership. So if you have an idea, or want to contribute in some way, don't be shy. Contact a group of members, a moderator, or an administrator and get the ball rolling.

Once again, thanks to all the folks who make BuckeyePlanet ... well, BuckeyePlanet. There's nothing else like it!

First, any props thread should begin and end with Clarity's contributions. Without his generosity and vision, we would not even be here.

Thanks to everyone who logs in here and throws in some thoughts and buys into the family/community thing we have going here. They can call us arrogant, elitist, bitter...whatever, but they have to admit we have been successful.

Finally, let's keep striving to get better. The new server will make so many things possible...hopefully we can knock that out quickly.

Oh and btw, this thread is in the recruiting forum...so I am warning EVERYONE who cursed in here :biggrin:

Great job guys. I am very impressed with the way the mods have handled everything and I am grateful that you politely tell me to shut up...it's always appreciated.

Of course we're gonna get the overzealous types who have to show an opinion on everything under the sun with recruiting but I was pleased with the way you guys handled it all.

My only wish is for everyone to respect other people's opinions, especially to those that have shown intelligence with respect to recruiting. If one person says Anderson Russell is gonna get a look at RB, there is no need to tell that person he's wrong just because Scouts' profile of him says he's being recruited first as a safety.

Again, great job guys. I've had fun.

and to Clarity. Most of us will never know how much work and stress you've put into this place, but it will all never go unnoticed. Thanks for putting so much effort into The Planet.

I would also like to thank the insiders who have given me alot of great information during this recruiting class and got me through the drama, its nice to be able to get the inside scoop from people you trust.

Finally, I would like to thank the countless members who post intelligent, humerous and sometimes pathetic posts. It gets me through the day at work.

Good thread. So many different people have contributed to this board one way or another, so thanks to all. Clarity is the Godfather of this board, and his vision has grown into something great. We've only scratched the surface here, I said during the football previews that we want to be the envy of every other board in the college football world. I think we can get there. We have a lot of intelligent, hard working people who make this all happen.

3yards deserves another kudos. My guess is that he puts in more time on this site, on average, than anyone else. I don't mean time spent here reading and posting, I'm talking about working. Not only does he perform admirably in his moderator role, he also finds and posts all the articles found on the front page, and he puts in a tremendous amount of time behind the scenes as well. He was (is) behind the entire Game Preview blogs, in which he contributes not only to the writing, but also to the entire editing and posting of the finished product. He is also the person that many here go to with questions, problems, etc., and he always has time (or finds the time) to help.

I could also go on to name a lot of others, but most have been mentioned. I don't know that most of you guys know what kind of effort 3yards throws out there, though, but now you do.

Now all you cheap bastards get off your arses and donate some money to keep this site the best one out there! :biggrin:
