The Buckeyes hosted Johnson during a 1-day camp last week.

“Everything went well,” Johnson said. “I got a lot of feedback from the coaches on what I need to work on, such as footwork, hand movements, etc. It was a great camp altogether.”

Johnson enjoyed working with Larry Johnson.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “He taught me the ins and outs of becoming a great defensive lineman. The key is to have effort in everything.”

Johnson is hoping to see a few other big-time schools. He recently visited Alabama and will be at Notre Dame on Saturday. He says he’ll return to Ohio State in July for Friday Night Lights.

Even though he’s originally from Texas, the country’s 13th-ranked 2019 DT says a Buckeyes offer would be a game-changer.
