LB Dallas Gant (transfer to Toledo)

Interested to see where he visits this weekend. Michigan was sure he was coming back for their spring game but last I heard he was still undecided between UM and OSU.
"I know Ohio State's and Michigan's (spring games) are on the same day, so I'll probably have to pick one of those," Gant said Sunday at the Cleveland regional of Nike's The Opening football camp.
"(Ohio State) has made it very clear from the beginning that there's no pressure on me," Gant said. "They make jokes every now and then about committing, but no pressure."

A visit to Michigan this weekend might force Urban Meyer to ramp things up a little bit.

"Coach Davis is a great guy,” Toledo St. John’s Jesuit linebacker Dallas Gant told Scout on Sunday at The Nike Opening in Cleveland. “I talk to him weekly. I text him a lot. At first, I thought it would kind of be a big difference between Coach Fickell and Coach Davis because I love Coach Fickell (who is now the head coach at Cincinnati).

“Coach Davis came in smoothly, and I think he’s going to really help the team with his experience from the NFL. So, I really don’t think there’s a big difference anymore."

I'm still not ready to throw out my favorite GIF. People love to discredit Loy when he CBs kids to ND but then want to treat it as gospel when he CBs a kid to OSU. The one thing I like about this situation is he supposedly told Loy in Cleveland that he knew where he wanted to go. Using that as the basis for reading the tea leaves has me leaning OSU, which is where I've been from the start. But ND is still going to throw Lea and Elko at him up until the decision date. I expect the OSU staff to be following up everyone of those ND visits with one of their own.

Love the positive news. To me, this is a huge battle to win...I almost said "need" but the truth of the matter is we are fairly stocked at the LB position for years to come. However, Gant is just a top talent in Ohio this year and I would hate to see him leave the state. If we do get his commitment, this will indeed be a huge win and a great job by the staff, because I know we were trailing for some time and appear to have made up a lot of ground.
