He doesn’t look big enough to even be an OLB in that picture, so if athleticism is a concern (which I believe it is) and they want him to put on some weight and put his hand in the dirt, I can see the reason for the delay.

1.) to see if he can put on some weight and 2.) to see him at camp playing DE.

sparcboxbuck What happened to my ¤cash?

Dude is 6-5 220 or so standing next to two dudes who make him look like a feather. That’s crazy.

Put another 20-30 lbs of good weight on him, his hand in the dirt and tell him to sic’em.

He’s got the frame to hold another 20+ easily right now. Give him another year or two to grow and the next 10 lbs will fill him out nicely.

Glad the kid stuck it out if it’s his dream to be a Buckeye.

That picture with day leading them is one of the best I've seen from a recruiting stand point

He’s a junior in HS, you act like he can’t put 15-20lbs before he even hits campus. Like @sparcboxbuck said, the guys he’s standing next to are enormous. OSU had a guy who played S at 6’5 210lbs as a HS junior and left OSU as a 270lb DE prospect going into the NFL draft. I would never doubt Coach Mick and the OSU S&C program.

Agreed, that pic is sick! And I love Day is in front grinning. He knows damn well that this trio could be huge at OSU and at the very least 1 of them will be a star

I didn’t act like anything; I laid out why he didn’t get an offer right away.

As you said, he’s a junior in HS, it’s normal for coaches to be prudent when offering players more than two years away from their first fall camp - especially when there are questions left to be answered.

Pic of Day with the three dudes from Cinci is pretty sweet. No doubt.

Even if the offer to Jaheim is strategic in nature, I support it and will welcome the young man enthusiastically to Buckeye Nation.

Do you really think that Day would offer a kid(an OH kid at that) strictly on strategy to secure his buddies?

    Honestly? Yes.

That said, this doesn’t feel like that at all. Feels more like needing to figure out where he fits in the program.

He’s a 4* and not a reach. He is a bit of a tweener in size and figuring out where they want him serves both sides well.

I think until we see a class or two, the jury is still out on what Day would/wouldn’t do as far as offering a player. I’d sure like to think that Day isn’t going to offer a kid just to land another one but what evidence is there to prove one way or the other?
