Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Texas A&M’s latest recruit is a collie named Twix (Reveille IX)
Live animal mascots are cool, and few have it as good as live dogs, including Texas A&M’s Reveille. The school introduced the latest dog to continue the tradition on Tuesday, a 16-month old female collie named Twix. Twix will be recognized as Reveille IX.
The new first lady of Aggieland was chosen by a 12-person committee that reportedly scanned the options from across the country. This is serious business. Twix was found out of Ohio after a pair of collie breeders submitted a tape of her for consideration. If Twix lives up to her scouting profile, she will be a lively supporter of the Aggies on game days.
“We’re always looking for a dog with a little more energy,” Tom Reber, Texas A&M’s vice president of student life, said according to The Eagle. “She loves the camera.”
The retirement of 8-year old Reveille VIII was announced in September, at which time the search got started for the heir to the Aggie throne.

Twix definitely looks like a "5 star" collie/recruit.
The irony here is that Texas A&M undoubtedly put more effort into recruiting a new mascot than some of their actual football players. In addition, Twix (aka Reveille IX) will be endeared to all the fans and have a longer career at Texas A&M than any of the football players.
