Tavion Thomas (RB Cincinnati Bearcats, transfer to ???)

He reminds me a lot of Drushaun Humphrey. Humphrey was recruited as a tailback, but he was so raw that I questioned whether he could excel it it in college (and as we know, he tragically never had the chance). Thomas is quite similar in that he has a big body, is a great athlete, but is quite raw in terms of the skills necessary to excel at tailback in college.

Fair points Hodge. I have to tell you, though, I have enjoyed Zeke, JT and even Weber carrying a defender or three for the extra yards. Looks like he has great potential and could be more of a JR/SR stud rather than a early entry guy. Either way, looks like he will be playing major college ball somewhere. Go Bucks!

Anyone know anything about his track times? I saw some comments on 11w about him having a personal best of 10.5 in the 100, which if true, is flat out flying. For comparison, Beanie was the same size in HS and ran around 11. Crazy if true.

The only verified track times for him are from his freshman year. His best 200 meters that year was 23.60 which is excellent for a 9th grader.

I'd ignore the 10.5, that's not verified and can't be right. But Thomas is supposed to run the 100, 200, 4x100 and 4x200 for Dunbar this spring so we'll get some true times. Dunbar has been a high school track power so the fact Thomas is running so many sprint events for them says a lot. Especially since he's a 225 pounder.

This kid is on fire with the offers! Reminds me of when Amir Riep started to blow up last year nationally as well. It'll be much sweeter when Tavion chooses to stay home and ball for the Buckeyes:blush:

"I don't really have one favorite school or a top-five, because all of my offers are a blessing and I'm still doing my research on every school that has offered," Thomas stressed. "I'm still open to hearing from anyone, and I'm willing to consider any new school that would offer."

"I have a lot of favorite schools right now, but I have visits to take and still want to learn about all of these schools," he said. "I'm in no hurry to make my decision, and I'm enjoying the recruiting process."
