Danny Davis (WR Wisconsin Badgers)

Dude has 3 TDs for Wiscy so far in their bowl game.

Sick and tired of seeing OH guys leave the state and flourish.

Can’t we find a way to fit a few more in each year?
What sucks is if OSU doesn't land Grimes, you may have Danny Davis in that class. Having said that, you can't take Davis over Grimes. You can't predict the outcome of him transferring.

not sure it's davis versus grimes, though, for that scholarship spot. i'm not going to target a current player, but the staff's 11th hour decision has shown to be a bit curious in retrospect. lots of games left, however.

i'm very confident in our staff's ability to sign blue chip athletes at the receiver positions, but i'm less confident in their ability to locate and sign instinctive pass-catchers who run great routes. i don't think meyer and smith would ever sniff players like a robo, gonzo, dane, or hartline. for all the flak that hartline received, we would have been blessed to have a guy like him on the team this (or, should i say, last) season.

I think Osu has had the players, but they have not developed for one reason or another. Some of it falls on JT, some on injuries, some on inconsistencies. Hindsight is a beautiful thing, and I knew that Davis' success would lead to Buckeye fans questioning the coaches(not saying that you did). I believe Davis may have had issues with grades and that may have been someone the staff couldn't work with. Talent wise, I'd put any of the WRs that Meyer has recruited against the guys Tressel recruited. I believe Mack, Harris, Campbell, Hill, etc would make us forget about Davis with a more polished passer under center

We recruit running backs and running QB s and put them at WR. WR is a technique position running back is a react position. We haven’t made solid receivers from them except for Thomas ..
You've described most of CFB... In HS the best player plays whatever position that gets him the ball most, and college coaches find them a true position
And actually Osu has signed Victir, Mack, Harris, Grimes, Babb, Gardner, Brown, Dixon and McLaurin in the past few recruiting cycles. All pure WRs.

If you're referring to Gardner, you're not going to flip Davis from a solid program like Wisconsin that late. What's to say they didn't even give him a call and he said he's good? Grimes was committed and had a spot for a long period of time (even if he actually committed late, he was a silent commit for a while).
