Ohio St. Big Ten hopes.

Head Coach
I have now been able to watch most of the big ten teams play. I think we have a very good shot to be in the top 4.

Illinois is awesome and will win the big ten maybe losing 2 or 3 games. Hopefully one is to us.

Iowa is a very good also.

MSU is not what they were hyped up to be. Very average team.

Wisconsin is always tough, but not like they were last year.

Indiana and Purdue are down this year. Sorry to see this in Keady's last year.

NW is a a pretty good team this year.

Minnesota also seems down.

Michigan sucks as we all know.

PSU will bring up the rear.

So my prediction is

1. Illinois
2. Iowa
3. Wisconsin
4. tOSU
5. NW
6. MSU
7. Mich.
8. Purdue
9. Indiana
10. Minnesota
11. PSU

I think that we could win the big ten tournament possibly b/c Illlinois will probably have a number one seed wrapped up and not need to play hard. It will be our guys post season and they will want to show what they are capable of.

Illinois might be too quick for us tho. Even if they arent playing their hardest.

I like your analysis. According to what we've seen right now, it seems accurate. The predictions are a little optimistic for my taste, given our schedule strength thus far.

I still think Michigan State has more talent than us and usually starts to bring things together during their Big Ten stretch.

I have a feeling that Northwestern and the Buckeyes will be interchangeable but I gave NU the benefit of the doubt because they will have NCAA/NIT implications while we will try to motivate ourselves late in the season as nothing more than "spoilers".

I also flip flopped Indiana and Purdue just on a hunch. Bracy Wright is the kind of stud player that Purdue doesn't have and I think he'll be the difference.

1. Illinois
2. Iowa
3. Wisconsin
4. MSU
5. NW
6. tOSU
7. Mich.
8. Indiana
9. Purdue
10. Minnesota
11. PSU

Great post.

I think we will see tonite how well we will be able to stack up against Iowa b/c they play TT on a neutral court.

As for your take on MSU, I really don't think they are as strong as what everyone makes them out to be. They always choke against average to good team. If they get beat a couple times at home look for them to have a very average big ten season.

Also for NW, yes they are a good team, but I think that they play better against a team that likes to run, b/c they slow it down and frustrate them. As for us we will be able to play that kind of game and we will be able to pound it to Dials and he should be able to score at will, b/c they are pretty weak in the middle and they don't shoot all that well.

Well tell me what you would rather have 4 guards who can stretch the defense, make big guys defend outside the arc, or have a big man like we had last year. Remember last year we had Rad and Dials, and that never worked when they were in the game together.

i suscribe to the theory you cannot win if you do not have an inside presence. and i do not mean one guy. i have noe idea what your basketball background is, but history tells us that big guys win. you can beat a team with out big men, but not consistently.

also, youwill find out a little something about michigan state tonite agaisnt ucla. should be a decent game.

Dials has been plaing really good lately and MM fills in off the bench when need be. What about all them Duke teams that were good. They had one guy, not two or three. I don't understand your argument.

Would you take Rad and Dials, Or Dials and Harris.

Also MSU is very average. They still have no point and they were playing at home. That was UCLA's first time away from California and it was a cross country trip. Also I don't think Paul Davis is very good. Yeah he had a decent night but he is so inconsistent.

Iowa is really strong and they could compete with Illinois for the big ten championship.

crazybuck40 which duke team are you referencing, the great team of 90-91?

6-11 laettner
6-8 hill jr
6-8 grant hill
6-8 davis
6-6 koubek
6-8 lang
6-9 palmer
6-8 clark
6-8 ast
6-10 buckley
bobby hurley 6ft-maybe

dont know if you were in diapers maybe look that team up, sounds like they had a helluva a size problem to me.

i did watch a good deal of it, it was very sloppy.

i can buy paul davis stuff he is slightly inconsistent, foul trouble will do this to you and this can be seen throughout his career. look at any big man who has foul trouble and his numbers will be down, but he averaged 16 per last year.

at this point id give the nod in feb to msu, and its in the breslin center

Um how bout the year when they had boozer in the middle. There was no one around him. Also when did it become a size problem. I thought it was an inside presence you were talking about. I believe hill was a wing player. Compare him to sullinger and Harris the way they play. Well I don't really know much about the 91 Duke team but I do recently they play four out 1 in. Just like Matta did at Xavier. I believe they made a nice run in the tourney last year with just West in the middle. I am not saying you can't win with an abundance of inside presence, but what I am saying is that you can win with only one inside precense that is pretty good. Why have more than one. That just clogs up the middle just like last year when we had both Dials and Rad in the game.

Also who would you rather have in the game Dials and Rad or Dials and Harris?
