... they didnt let pryor loose to throw the ball effectively instead of little 2 yard dumpoffs. im not tryin to bash the coaches-caugh caugh tressel caugh caugh- but that was seriously some of the worst play calling i have ever seen
The deep stuff was not there. Short dumps were the only thing available; our wides were in no way getting deep separation.

... with the way refs are recognizing whether or not something crossed a line (real or imagnary), who the hell knows?
Bizarre officiating in this contest. First Iowa gets a six-yard (!) penalty for illegal procedure in the red zone, then we get assessed 15 yards for a 10-yard holding infraction, then Johnson-Koulianos gets credit for a key first-down pickup pass that he corraled on the first bounce. It was NOT in favor of the Hawks; looked like it was equally inept for both teams. Iowa fan sitting next to me asked whether the refs were using a random-number generator to figure out penalty yards.

It does that this season, except in the last couple minutes of each half.
it did that last season too, and it's absolute garbage, and drastically lessens the chances of a comeback.

But the NCAA wants their commercials, so screw the players and games.

You must be new to this football thing then.

I'm sure that Jim Tressel's playbook is just replete with plays where a 2 yard dumpoff is the primary read. :roll2:

thank you!

Jim Tressel's playcalling was good enough to give this team a 14-point lead in the 4th quarter. Jim Tressel's playbook didn't miss tackles in kick coverage, it didn't jump offsides on a pick-six and it didn't doink another INT up in the air for an Iowa receiver to get a second chance to catch.

Thank you! Good Post.
I just thought this driving home...
If jt's play calling is So chronically bad, then why don't our opponents figure this out before the game and "out-play-call" him and beat him?

Seriously, ask any Mich fan, we should be enjoying this golden era of Tress and Matta showing up year after year with great teams and winning records. I wish tOSU fans would quit repeating the bad play calling montra over and over... We've won the big 10 5 consecutive times Shut The FUp already! We get it, he's conservative..
