Game Thread Ohio State 27, Iowa 24 (final, OT, 11/14/09) - Rose Bowl bound!!!

Yes, because even if we were to lose to scUM (not happening), our conference record would be 6-2. Iowa, Wisky, and Penn St. could all win out and also go 6-2 at best in the conference. Since we beat all 3, we would clinch the automatic berth.

It's amazing to think that some people wanted the QB, OC or head coach's head on a stick a few weeks ago, and now they're one win away from locking up a Rose Bowl berth before they even set foot in the Pig House.

I'm looking forward to a win next week not just for the berth, but for all the Shutting the Fuck Up that would take place.

This game means exactly the same for both teams. Whoever wins this game WILL go to the Rose Bowl, and if they win out, they will be outright Big Ten Champs. Both teams control their own destiny. No scoreboard watching. No worrying about going to a BCS championship game or not. No worrying about what Penn State, or Wisconsin, or any other Big Ten teams do. It's Iowa and Ohio State and that's it. Winner goes to the Rose Bowl. It's as close to a Big Ten Championship Game as you can get. And lucky for the Buckeyes, we get to play the Big Ten Championship Game at home. There is no reason why we shouldn't win this game.

The 'Shoe needs to be rocking. I'll be there, and i'll be loud. It's a 3:30 game, so there is no reason to not get into the stadium early. It's been 12 years since Ohio State has been to the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes are 60 minutes of football in Ohio Stadium away from getting it done.

Get excited Buckeyes...it's not every year you get to HOST a conference championship game!!!!! GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!

I want to throw up saying this because I normally don't agree with this guy but.... Mark May speaks for me as far as how I see this game. I believe the buckeyes will get it done, but dammit it to hell if there isn't something about this Iowa team that creeps you out.

I know with all my being that they won't have anything on offense for this defense we have, but their rush ends and their saftey can create turnovers. As long as we win the turnover battle it's game set match.

The thing about Iowa is this... They fall behind nearly EVERY game. If they do that against us they're done. Forget it. That's why if we can get a lead above 8 points its going to be tough for them to do much of anything. If they don't have much to muster against MSU, NW, and PSU they're going to be hurting to reach the endzone.

ONE MORE GAME and it's 5 in a row and a Rose Bowl. If we were to somehow lose this game we really should be ashamed to be honest. Without their starting left tackle, their starting Qb, and their best RB. Compounded with being in the horse shoe' in a winner takes all game. We gata get this one, and I believe we do. Bucks 27, Iowa 7

I'll believe that Stanzi is out against us when I see him not take the field. They will do anything they can to get him into that game. I don't believe that his being on the field will make any difference if the Buckeyes play as well as they did at Penn State.

Quite frankly, I don't rate Kirk Ferentz as highly as most folks and I don't think that Iowa is really so good as they are lucky. Well, luck ran out.

I will be surprised if Iowa scores on offense.

EVERYBODY STOP THIS CRAP ABOUT BEATING IOWA AND THE BIG TEN RACE BEING ALL OVER. IN THE GAME, ANYTHING GOES. WE NEED TWO VICTORIES.

Arrogance is what cost us the game against Purdue. We've lost games before to TSUN, and they to us, when the teams on paper should not have had a chance to win.

One game at a time, Buckeyes. Jack Tatum tough.

Umm....Steve? Check out the Big Ten tiebreaker rules. The Iowa-OSU winner is mathematically the Big Ten champion and can dance around with roses in their mouths. The race will, in fact, be over.

However, we should be the crap out of scUM anyway, just on principle.
