We're not sure what's more pathetic -- the insult itself (why would Oden help OSU's football team?) or the cardboard box it was created on.

HEY! That looks like the guy that installed my cable last Saturday! :slappy:Seriously though...

Dude, you went back a read the entire game discussion? Did you forget we were there...I'm going to the USC game next year by the way.

It took me 3 hours to read the last 100 pages.

Now I have to read the Akron game thread.

This is a great read. Not sure if it's been posted in this thread yet or not; BB73 will have to verify that.

Instant Analysis: Ohio State-Washington
By Matt Zemek

When Jim Tressel jumps up and down like a maniac, his Ohio State players pay attention. The decorated coach played the part of a world-class football analyst, because he seemed to know exactly when his team needed an extra boost on a cloudy Saturday in Seattle. Inspired by their leader, the Buckeyes dominated the final 25 minutes to claim a hard-fought win against Washington.

Two WRs that are 90% of what we just lost to the draft and a possibly improved running game, coupled with a defense that should be stringer than last year's, should calm the worriers down somewhat...

I don't see 2 WRs that are "90%" of Ted Ginn and Gonzo.

Robo , Small and Hartline will be good....just not 90% good as the 2 mentioned.

MililaniBuckeye;848682; said:
Robo is 90% of Ginn, no doubt. He's actually a better route runner and just as good a ball-catcher...he just doesn't have that unworldly Ginn speed. And I would put Hartline at 90% of Gonzo...85% at worst.

You act like we have some sort of huge drop off in talent at WR with the departures of Ginn and Gonzo, and we don't.

Taosman;848814; said:
Robo, to me, is more like a Jenkins clone, big physical receiver with decent speed.

Ginn just terrified people, and backed it up by blowing by some of the best DBs in college football.

And Hartline doesn't equal Gonzo.

Small, hasn't done much, yet.

90%? Naaa! More like 75-80%
Good, but not 90% of Ginn and Gonzo!

Now that we're 10 games in, I figured it would be a good time to compre numbers.

A. 85 rec. 1357 yds 15 td

B. 92 rec. 1276 yds 13 td

A= 2007 Hartline and Robo
B= 2006 Ginn and Gonzo. Both after 10 games.

Seems to me that the 2007 receiving corps is indeed equal to the 2006 version. It's helped that Boeckman has played so well.

As the resident stat nerd it is my duty to point out that equivalence of stats and equivalence of talent/potential are different things.

IMHO, Robo will go down as one of the best ever at Ohio State before he's done. Hartline is very good, but he's not Gonzo.
