    14 linebackers drafted
    average draft position - 88
    average linebacker rank - 11

so, if we look at the last 15 drafts, so-called linebacker u has had 4 fewer linebackers drafted (14 versus 10). the separation between the average draft positions for each school was 38 (88th versus 126th). that's more than a whole round's difference! finally, comparing average linebacker ranks, the difference is 7 (11th versus 18th).

by the way... for how many drafts has penn state been in the big ten? yep, that's right. 15.

Lineman's career over after neck injury

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State offensive lineman Elijah Robinson's football career is over after he sustained a neck injury in spring practice.

Robinson walked off the field and was not hospitalized after the injury, but team doctor Wayne Sebastianelli discovered after examinations that Robinson was born with a tight spinal canal, team officials said.

Glad to see he wasn't severely or permanently injured, but it's a shame his career is over. Then again, this injury could be a blessing in disguise in that it discovered a potentially serious or even deadly problem ahead of time...

Nittany Lions' Morelli ready to face his critics

"No individual is going to make or break the season," the quarterback says.

The Nittany Lions passer, responding to a question in State College, has benefited from postseason success.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Anthony Morelli spent weekends this summer fishing for bass. On weekends this fall, the Penn State quarterback hopes to avoid again becoming bait for critical Nittany Lions fans.
Expectations are as high as ever for the senior, but teammates and coaches say Morelli will give the rabid critics little reason to try to hook him this season.
