Really though, what can you do about it? No drinking at the games? Stop tailgating? All of that takes away from a lot of the fun that goes with the games, tailgating is a past time, having a few beers when you go to a sports event isn't required but let's be honest here, football is a really good excuse to drink.

I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but the problem is not the drinking. When we blame these kinds of incidents on drinking, we're taking the blame away from the people doing the acting out. One can drink alcohol, even to excess and not turn into a violent thug. Rather, I believe it's the attitude that these kids start the day with. The alcohol is almost an excuse to act like an asshole. I see plenty of people drinking a ton of alcohol, and they're not assaulting visiting fans.

If the police would turn their attention away from writing stupid open container citations for people who aren't causing problems and turn their attention to those who are, we would have a lot fewer problems. A couple of cops on foot patrolling the area, ignoring the drinking, but watching for violence would do a hell of a lot more to curb the violence than issuing a few hundred citations. So why don't they focus on the behavior instead. Because the citations bring easy income to the locality.

In our typical kneejerk approach to solving problems, we will punish the vast majority for the deeds of a small minority with an approach that will have little effect.

Go figure.

Men. They look like drunk assholes, but no big deal. No harm done. The other shit is fucking sick.

I agree; I was merely posting it since the other was a dead link. I think they look/sound like douche bags more than the fact they are burning a jersey. Burn all the jerseys you want boys, more money to THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY with each purchase.

:oh:

Jeff Amey's breakdown.

By the Numbers
By Jeff Amey

The Ohio State Buckeyes took to the road once again this past Saturday to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions at night in a raucous (at least at the beginning of the game) stadium trying to pull off another "White Out" that helped Penn State to victory in 2005.

What they got instead was knocked out.

The Buckeyes came away with much more than just a 37-17 blowout win. They also came away with validation of their number one ranking and a little bit of respect from the major media after weeks of harping about their schedule and the hangover from last year's Championship game.

Despite the win, the Buckeyes also come away from this game with a few new things to work on, especially up front on defense. Penn State ran the ball easier than any other opponent this season, seemingly right at the strength of the Buckeye defense, a topic we'll discuss later. For now let's just take a look at the stats for the game.

He was not so fortunate on his pick six later in the game. Who was he throwing to? If the receiver ran the wrong route, why was the defender not following the receiver? If he was following Morelli's eyes, just what was he looking at? Tressel? He has now thrown only three touchdowns against Ohio State--and all three were INTs and TDs for Ohio State.

Posted earlier in this thread so I thought I'd chime. I just watched the play and the Bucks were in cover 2. Jenkins carried the receiver to the safety and the TE slipped out late. His responsibility is up, he tried to recover (and wouldn't have if it was a good throw) and happened to be in the right place at the right time. He would have made the tackle (probably would've leveled the TE with the running start he got). 2 cents... in.
