Game Thread Ohio State 38, Toledo 0 (Sep 19, Browns Stadium)

The booing didn't hurt, it didn't help, it just showed the fans' displeasure. Should the fans have cheered? Should they have given the proverbial, "Awww...that's okay. You're trying. Here's your participation trophy," kind of response? The result of the play warranted boos, just as the result of almost every other play warranted cheers.
If the Buckeyes make a mistake or don't do well I express disappointment, not disgust.

God I hate the "True fans" belief. What does it take to be a "True fan?" Do I have to drink the Kool-Aid and believe my team can do no wrong? Am I a False-fan just because I'm discouraged with my team's power running game?

As for your question, hopefully neither. Coaches, at least the good ones, don't call their plays based off how the audience will react. The booing didn't hurt, it didn't help, it just showed the fans' displeasure. Should the fans have cheered? Should they have given the proverbial, "Awww...that's okay. You're trying. I guess what bothers me is when people criticize fans for booing.

I'll also add about this game: I'll be happy if Ohio State never schedules a "road" or neutral site game against a non-BCS opponent again - if for no reason other than the shitty camera angles we got during today's broadcast. It had me missing the good ol' BTN.

I don't want to gloat, but I told my dad last night that TP would explode and we would dominate every game from here on out, except the Penn State game which I think we will win in a close battle, and the offense would start to come together. Our D is there, dominant, our offense is catching up and it is going to be a wicked season!!! tOSU vs Cal in the Rose Bowl!

Did you guys know that the only reason TP didn't have 6 picks today was because Toledo has the 107th ranked pass defense. We should all pay closer attention to Mark May.

Yes, if I want eyeglass fashion tips. Of the two i would rather listen to Lou. After all he is the one with the nat'l championship ring....

That dude NEVER skips a chance to bash our Bucks. Did we do something to him in when he played at Pittsburgh?

I don't think it's discrediting TP's performance in saying that Toledo has one of the worst pass coverage defenses i've seen in a long time. I had a hard time understanding what they were trying to do. I can understand giving the WR's some room to compensate for lack of speed/overall talent, yet at the same time, when you are getting beat deep, and short, and medium you would think there would be an attempt to make some sort of adaptation to the situation...Not complaining..As I stated in another thread. I feel this is EXACTLY what we needed.

Not me, it shows a lack of class. These are 18-22 year old collegiate athletes, they are still kids IMHO. Booing is just something that someone (who probably was a lousy athlete) does to make themself feel somewhat relevant. It's a joke, because in my experience most who boo have a very small grasp on the game as a whole. I hate being around people like that because most tend to be ignorant and arrogant at the same time..........which is a horrible combination.

You can boo NFL players........they draw huge salaries, and it's for entertainment. Until they do the same for college athletes (pay them large salaries), you don't have much ground to stand on. Plus, you just come across as looking like an asshole.

It was very encouraging to see this team still very focused on the task at hand and played like nothing had happen last week. Another huge positive is the play by Ray Small. You could tell from the tackle on the INT and the reception that was behind him that he is a lot more focused and finally buying into the system. With Sanzo, Posey, Small and Carter, I'm not worried about the receiving corp. I was also very impressed by Hall today, and would not find to see him worked into the rotation.
