Game Thread Ohio State at Michigan State, 11/19/16, 12p ET ESPN/WatchESPN

Am I missing something about the criticizing of JTs accuracy? We had a ton of drops today.

Everyone keeps fond memories of his 201-self. Statistically speaking, going into today he's having a better completion % than any of his other seasons, he's reduced his INTs by 60%, and he's on track to throw more yards than any season...

I'll assume you did all the fact checking. He does have far fewer TDs though.

The problem is that when the run game is getting us 28, 35 points (300+ yards), completions come easy for JT. When our running game stalls, JT cannot use his arm to get us out of adverse situations.

We are a one dimensional team.

Far fewer TDs? 9 fewer after today? Not very much especially with guaranteed 2, maybe 4 more games to go.

As far as adverse situations are concerned, using JTs mobility is key. There's a reason why Ohio state consistently goes after dual threat QBs. They are able to not rely on just their arm to win a game. That's really all that matters - coming up big to make a clutch play when it matters most.

Again, I revert back to state because those are what rules king. Everyone has an opinion and feels they know what's best for this team so the only thing we can agree on are JTs stats which are comparable (and better) than any of his other seasons.

JT got injured mid way into the SCUM game. Have to take that into account too.

Game day observations:
1) win and advance is what matters most - I gives a damn about style points right meow
2) no major injuries heading into scUM week is a bonus and the punch in the mouth hopefully has our boys ready to murder scUM
3) weather was atrocious and clearly played into MSU's favor once again
4) Real head scratcher why we abandoned run game when it couldn't be stopped on several drives
5) general lack of creativity with offensive play calling....coaches overthinking this glorious game....heavy run selection when you have a fall Alberta clipper bearing down...mix in a few deep shots, some misdirection, screens and intermediate slants would have been a nice balance
6) Urban and his staff really struggle adjusting our game plan in poor weather games...lets throw this years $30M paycheck on an indoor weather simulation system
7) our receivers had too many drops today that resulted in killed drives...we continue to struggle developing 4 star WRs into productive weapons...its not going to fix itself this year...not sold on ZS as a talent developer
8) Weber proved himself today and was the X factor on O
9) our legit X factor didn't get enough touches once again
10) was disappointed with the lack of pressure we got from our Dline until the fourth quarter
11) our secondary had an incredible game - BAMFs and my favorite buckeye secondary unit of my lifetime
12) It's really good to be a Buckeye my friends
13) fuck scUM right in the hoo haw
14) enjoy these last few weeks of ball
15) Gus Johnson is topppp notch...if we don't make the BIG championship game I'll be depressed hearing Gus calling the PedOBears in our place

We got a gift from Dantonio. He must not have had much confidence in his offense going into an over time.
The wind was horrible and unpredictable today. Even scUM couldn't throw it today.
Scott was a force today. If you go for 2 why not give him the ball? Dantonio over-thought his 2 point play.
Mike Weber is just getting better and better. He hit 1000 yards today.
JT didn't have a great day but he ran for 100 yards today.
Where did Samuel go? Was he a decoy most of the day?
The defensive goal line stand was another great one.

I live in W. Michigan by the lakeshore and if the wind in Sparty stadium was half of what we have here, then I have no clue why we were even throwing the ball 25 times.
That's what I mean... after we had like what 50 yards at half time? Just stop what are you doing!

Absolutely no reason to throw the ball that last drive though when it went incomplete on first down. Some of the issues didn't look like wind though some of them straight up looked like misfires.

The WR dropped a few and JT missed on probably 4-5 that he just can't miss on. We need those next week.

Have to disagree. We were moving the ball well on the ground on a number of drives, then inexplicably we start throwing. Totally threw off the rhythm of the drive.

I don't recall one Jet, any misdirection, or a counter play. I just don't think the OCs are utilizing the players effectively against the defensive schemes.

Again tough day to throw the ball. If you want to throw, it would have been a good day for short middle routes to Baugh and Noah. I think I saw one or 2 of those.
Ill give you the misdirection - Sparty used it all day - and the counter - Sparty used this effectively too, but the Buck's jet sweep has been a disaster this whole season.
