Ohio State at Michigan State, Saturday, March 5, Noon, ESPN

Goes without saying this is the game of the year for the Bucks. I hope they feel that way too and we see some "Kentucky" game effort out there where everyone is contributing. Would be an amazing turn of events if they can pull this one off.

Bucks need a win to make the tournament.

Sure hope Bryn Forbes cools down before the game--last night he hit 11/16 (69%) of his threes, setting a Big Ten record.

Just heard Bryn Forbes is shooting 61% from 3-point range over his last 5 games.

...and, predictably, against us (one of the 5 games in that stretch), he exceeded that average, shooting 70%. :sad2:
Hey-zeus. That is ridiculous.

Bucks need to use their length and make sure they are contesting everything. That means no lazy efforts around screens. I'm always leery of what the offense will bring on any given day, but you should be able to hang your hat on competing on the defensive end. I think it starts there and hopefully a full week of rest and prep allows the Buckeyes to get tuned in. Need a heck of an effort at East Lansing...and even then it may not be enough.

As frustrating as this team is, at least they are hanging around tournament talk to the last game and making it interesting. I'll be gritting by teeth, covering my eyes, and cheering for an upset all at the same time on Saturday.

One simple change. Don't face guard him, play behind him and trail him around the screens. He doesn't curl much and is really just looking to get open for threes and if you are trailing him within a step, they can't step in to screen you and he won't have room to turn, catch and shoot cleanly.

If KBD is the trailer, I'd like to see Forbes get a clean shot away with Keita standing right behind him. Forbes would end up with whiplash or a broken tailbone if he tried.

We all want to see our young basketball team pull off the upset, in fact, some truly believe this team will do just that. I know that we can hang with those guys at Michigan State, but can we overcome that and actually slip away with what would amount to the single best win on the Buckeyes resume this season. It is going to take one hell'of'a game on both ends, the effort/energy level needs to be maxed and then some. One major thing that I can see helping us would be if our bigs could put in some baskets as well as dominate defensively (blocked shots etc...). I have seen a great improvement out of Giddens and Thompson as the season progressed, they have gained a significant amount of confidence, and so it would just be wicked to see those two really have at it and make some noise. We will see, I have faith as always yall know that...and oh yeah... GOOOOO BUCKS!!!!!!!!
