Game Thread Ohio State at Wisconsin, 10/15/16, 8:00pm ET ABC/WatchESPN

Not disagreeing with the underlying issue, Mili--TSUN is better than many people here think and they are getting better--but despite the disparity in the scores, the ass-kicking was impressive but not any more impressive.

My feeling after yesterday is that Wisconsin is a serious threat.
Which is exactly my point. Some here think that Wiscy's holding scum to 14 points isn't really impressive, whereas I think it is...

Buckeyes need to realize that this is all on the offense this week. A quick tour through the computers suggests that the Badger defense is surpassed only by Alabama and Ohio State. Just about every team that they have played has had their worst day of the season offensively, so far.

Offensively, it's better news. However, a week off to prepare suggests that their rather inept offense (ranked in the 50s and 60s) has had some time to prepare for the Buckeyes. Still, the Silver Bullets will like what they see on tape.

The weather also may be a problem. The temperature will be about 65F - 68F, but the wind is supposed to be about 18-20 mph at game time and there's a 24% chance of rain. That is much stronger wind than against Indiana.

Add to that the "arse-kicking revenge game motive" and this shapes up to be a real trap game.

What I don't understand is the praise that Urban Meyer showered on Indiana. The computers rank their defense from the upper 50s to the 80s and teams playing them have put up pretty much average numbers. Why did he keep saying that this is the toughest team Ohio State would meet until the end of the schedule? I'm hoping it was hype and that the Buckeyes also have been preparing a bit for the Badgers as well.

This is not a game for the slow start. From what I see, the Buckeyes better think of themselves as a straight-up game and it all will depend on which JT Barrett shows up. If the stunt double that played against Indiana travels to Madison, this could be a long night for the Buckeyes.

Fuck Bucky. It can't be said enough.

Amen. I still remember that fall of Saigon bullshit they pulled up there in '03, logo stomping and all the trash they talked in both victory and defeat for years. When Alvarez rebuilt the program he also instilled some of his personal scumbag gene in it.

Fuck Bucky

and that is no small thing

Their defensive prowess so far has come against two QB's who have since been benched and Wilton Speight. All 3 of those offenses look nothing like what OSU does so I am not sure how much of their defensive numbers you can take at face value either.

Win the TO battle, win the field position battle with special teams, pass to their capabilities and OSU should handle Wisconsin no matter the time or location.

If the weather is horrible and/or the passing offense is sub par again then Wisconsin can shorten the game and make it close.

Basically perfect strategy, Jax

The problem with Wisconsin is not only are their QBs ass. Theyve also struggled to run the ball very well this year as well. The only game theyve topped 4 ypc in was against Akron.

I guess they could decide to play out of their ass in this night game at home. But I dont see them being able to move the ball much. Even if their D is able to get some stops its still rough sledding for them. Just dont turn the ball over giving them short field and avoid any special teams breakdowns and all should be good.

I just seen PSU also has a bye week before hosting us at night.. This fucking happens all the time. I remember a few years we faced something like 4 straight teams that had a bye week before playing us. How does that happen.

I actually think Pedo will give us more trouble as their skill on offense is better. Not as good of a defense and sconsin but better offense.

Statistically speaking, the Badgers are very similar to Indiana in passing defense.

Pass Efficiency (rank): Wisconsin 21, Indy 24
Def Interceptions: Wisconsin 7, Indy 5
Pass Yds Allowed (rank): Wisconsin 34, Indy 36

I think these stats are telling as to why Indiana focused so hard to stop anything in the air - they knew their strength. Indianas rush D is crap and it's why Barrett & crew went for 300 on the ground Saturday. The biggest concern will be finding an offensive balance to attack Indiana with. I do think it will be a bit easier in the sense that Wisconsin won't be so eager to give up rush yards all game the way Indy did, and there is only so many players that can be on the field at once.

This game this weekend will come down to how well our Receivers get off their blocks and make plays. They just faced a very similar pass Defense (which is what I think Urban was talking about in his presser). The question will be, how well does Zone 6 watch film and adjust/improve this week.

This game scares me. I dunno. At the very least it's mid-season, so if the very worst happens, we wouldn't fall so far that we couldn't climb back up. It's a shame scUM doesn't have a more difficult schedule.

I'm beginning to get confused as to whether we're supposed to root for them so they're a high ranking opponent when we play them or if we want them to have one/two losses when we play them so there's not as much pressure.

You're supposed to root against tsun every time a team from any sport takes the field/court. The ultimate goal is to have their entire athletic department disbanded, stadiums and other facilities torn down, and the fields plowed and salted.

I mean I get that but 9 for 21... if JT goes for 15 of 21 I can live with 150 yards passing. I suppose even if it's 15 of 21 for 100 yards maybe we can see they just weren't giving us much deep. It's the accuracy that's troubling at least to me.

This is not a good matchup for bucky though... They were tailor made for a team like scum but IMO not for our running attack which spreads the defense
