Game Thread Ohio State at Wisconsin, 10/15/16, 8:00pm ET ABC/WatchESPN

With that plus now the DB coach having said Brown is more or less slow (which I technically don't disagree with but he isn't 100% back yet imo) and then also saying the offense is basic.

What the hell are these teams doing this year? Just shut up you're already about 95% going to lose why give us material to use?

Also forgot about their kicking issues. So that means they need to score TOUCHDOWNS. We haven't given up a rushing TD yet and considering how their throw game is poor I'm not sure how they score other then if we give them a ton of turnovers.

Win the turnover battle and win the field position battle and it will be a lock IMO. They won't drive the field on this defense consistently enough. Also please don't let fumagalie beat us Schiano/Fickle. He's all they have in the throw game!

I think really poor weather (wind/rain) actually favors Ohio State.

Current forecast from the national weather service -

Saturday Night
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Low around 57. South wind around 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wisconsin's best chance at scoring TDs on offense is on a broken coverage pass play. That goes down significantly with rain and decently high wind. I seriously doubt they will able to pound the ball on the ground down the field, theyve shown no reason to believe that they can do that so far this year.

Just avoid catastrophic special teams mistakes and momentum killing fumbles/ints and this is an "easy" win, even if it isnt a super blowout on the scoreboard.

Completely disagree. Poor weather almost always favors the less athletic underdog. I would feel better about this game if the weather was clear. Still think we win, but not as easily.

This just seems like the kind of game this team was built for. Big Stage, under the lights, prime time. Noon-Saturday-Indiana, not so much.

These kids came to Ohio State for this kind of action. I think they will thrive on the hostile environment in Madison.

Heart says 45-3 good guys

Head says 28-14 good guys.

Tough to choose between the two.

Sweet! Looks like I picked the perfect game to attend this year! :)

But last away game I went to was at MN a few years back and it snowed literally the entire game. Almost lost a pinky toe so this should be a walk in the park...Buckeye win plus I keep all my toes!

It levels the playing field more. Wisconsin is already predictable and relatively slow. The weather brings us down closer to their level if we're forced to be more conservative and our players can't make sharp cuts.
If our players can't make cuts then neither can theirs. It'll make them slower and predictable then.

Last year we lost to MSU because they won the LOS on both sides of the ball. Not because of the rain.

Pretend we could measure speed like video game ratings and say our team speed is a 95 and theirs is an 80. If the weather conditions reduce both teams' speed by 10%, both play slower but we take a bigger loss because 10% of 95 is 9.5 while it's only 8 for 80, thus closing the gap.

We lost to MSU because our playcalling was a clusterfuck until Warriner went in the booth.
