We have pretty much the same expectations, Brody. I think the Bucks are well on their way to being a program we can all be proud of again. Facilities, talent, and scheduling are all trending up, up, up.

Speaking of top Ohio guys, Beals may have wrapped up one of the top players in the state for 2014. I mentioned Jacob Niggemeyer (*cringes*) earlier in this thread. Jake is certainly one of the best sophmores in Ohio and is on course to be one of the best in the midwest by his senior year.

Our man Chris Webb on Jacob: http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/ohio/News/tabid/1170/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2496/2014-Standout-Jacob-Niggemeyer-picks-the-Buckeyes.aspx

I talked to coach Stafford a couple of weeks ago and turned him on to this site. Hopefully he remembers to check us out.

Bucks land Moeller 1B/P Zack Shannon for the 2014 class. This gives us the #1 & #3 ranked Ohio sophomores per Prep Baseball Report....sweet

now comes the trick of holding onto them, correct? Still to have them as verbals right now is flippn fantastic!

    :oh:

Yes sir. It's way too early to pencil these guys into the lineup, but getting verbals from this caliber of player this early in the process is very encouraging. It confirms that this staff is putting in work!

Just 5 days until first pitch!

LoKyBuckeye I give up. This board is too hard to understand. Staff Member

I can't make it to Fridays game against USF but I'll be there Saturday and possibly Sunday. Hopefully we'll have a big turnout from OSU fans

Anyone with info regarding Solomon not starting (per Chris Webb)?

I know the staff really likes Aaron Gretz...

From what i can gather, Solomon is injured and will see time this year at C, DH, and maybe 3B, but i was led to believe Gretz will be the guy behind the plate the majority of the time.

Gretz can really swing it from the left side of the plate, and we need more lefties in the lineup. Also, the staff also likes how Gretz handles the pitchers and his defense.

This info is just what i have been able to piece together from a couple of different folks...maybe Chris can drop by and give us his take.

Jordan McDonough (St. Xavier) has committed to the good guys. He's the top rated catcher in Ohio for the 2014 class. That gives us 3 of the top 10 in Ohio for 2014.

I'll be really am looking forward to seeing some of these local kids play like Ronnie Dawson (Licking Heights), Jake Niggemeyer (Worthington K),Zack Farmer (Piketon) who probably will get drafted this June. I also heard Shannon is not %100 on Ohio St which i can't blame him if the big school's are after him. If he's as good as iv'e seen and heard he probably won't even go to college if the money is right from the pro teams. I've been following the baseball bucks for a long time and i very impressed with Coach Beals and staff as far as recruiting goes. The future is very bright on the diamond at Ohio St.
