Ohio State Basketball Team Ranked #14

We definitely should be at the top of the preseason list for winning the big ten. We have our entire starting lineup returning, and have added two serious scorers in Mayes and Lewis... as well as long-ovderdue depth at the 5 to spell Dials...

I do not think this team will win a NC (tho the 06 team could with Butler, Mayes, Lewis and the best recruiting class ever)... but they will make serious noise.

It is kind of exciting to see Ohio State as the top ranked Big 10 team. The only other Big 10 teams ranked were Illinois (#16) and Michigan State (#24). I think this also means they expect the Big 10 to be down (i.e. fairly weak overall) this year.

Matta has done a great job, with Oden and Conley perhaps coming here too, I'm actually getting excited for Basketball season already, which I've not been even remotely interested in basketball this early (before the season) in a LONG time, maybe ever.

Get used to seeing Ohio State ranked, Matta has done a great job and with the recruiting class he is putting together we should be a top ten program for at least the next several years.

Its nice to see people say they are getting excited about OSU basketball again, its the way its supposed to be.

Wednesday will be a huge day for OSU basketball.

Here is the Big Ten teams that were ranked in the poll.....

14. Ohio State: Sorry, Thad Matta. You can't stay under the radar. Coaches all over the country are talking up your program. April rank: Unranked.

16. Illinois: Dee Brown's broken foot was great luck for the Illini. With Brown, the Illini will challenge for the Big Ten title. April rank: 20th.
25. Michigan State: All the underclassmen returned, and drop-offs elsewhere opened this spot. April rank: Unranked.
