Ohio State is in on a few big-time 2018 prospects already. Can the Buckeyes best the Wolverines for one's services?

Ohio State is getting a big jump on 2018 recruiting, targeting some of the biggest prospects in the country. With Urban Meyer's coaching success and the prestige of Ohio State, the Buckeyes are in a good position with a few of those prospects, though it is extremely early in the process.

In-state ATH prospect Jaelen Gill was on hand yesterday for the Best of the Midwest combine and he didn't disappoint as he took home MVP honors. Gill has several schools pursuing him and, along with Ohio State, some of the top schools considered to land his services are Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, and UCLA. Though Gill does not have a decision date in sight, it's safe to say that right now Ohio State is in the driver's seat to eventually land one of the top prospects in the country. At 6'0, 170 pounds, Gill holds 15 total offers and has been to Columbus a handful of times since last summer. Expect that trend to continue over the spring and into this summer as well. Gill has built a solid relationship with the Ohio State coaching staff and the bond will only continue to get stronger over the next few years.

2018 QB to visit

Staying in the class of 2018, quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson tweeted that he will be making a visit to Columbus in March. Thompson-Robinson is a four-star prospect who is just getting his feet wet in the recruiting process. He'll without a doubt be one of the most coveted players in his class by the time his senior season rolls around -- currently he is rated the number six dual-threat QB in 2018.

Already checking in at 6'2, the Bishop Gorman prospect has the skill set necessary to succeed in an Urban Meyer offense. Ohio State is quietly making their presence felt in the city of Las Vegas and Bishop Gorman would be an excellent place to develop a pipeline to. Expect to hear this name a lot over the next couple years and especially over the next few months and we get into the spring and summer camp circuits.

Can't wait to visit my childhood dream school in March! ⭕#OhioState #Zone6
