Good thing IU's AD didn't make the smart choice because Gene Smith bungled the timing of the Matta firing and let IU get the jump on us. If Holtmann turns out to be the better coach in the long term, and all evidence in the short term suggests he will, then Gene got lucky. Getting the better coach when picking second isn't exactly a coup.

Need to win at home vs Illinois and Northwestern those 2 games you can't lose at home.

The other main chances would be at Northwestern, home to Iowa and home to Wisconsin.

Winning 4 of the final 8 games means they are lock to get in.

Winning 3 and then winning the 1st round of the Big Ten tournament and I would say pretty much a lock.

Winning 3 and losing in the 1st round then depends I would think.

That is a very tough closing schedule to try and get 4 wins out of. Do it and home free.

Not saying we can't get in. But Illinois has won 4 of the last 5 and just beat MSU with quickness. Northwestern maybe 2 , maybe only one. If we play like we did today against the others we will be hard pressed to win.

Basically admit they can only win with UK-type talent, but they aren’t UK and haven’t been for 30 years.

IU is not a very good basketball team and ole Archie Miller has his work cut out for him. They have a couple nice recruits coming in next season but that class does not meet the standards of our class..
Also, if Morgan is first team all Big Ten than both of the Wesson brothers are all Americans.. He did not impress me at all.
