On and off the field, Perry will succeed in San Diego (or LA).

The Chargers were looking for a leader on the field and in the locker room, which is what they got with Joshua Perry and the No. 102 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Perry was a vocal leader for Ohio State during their National Championship run, and was also a familiar face among the community.

Perry finished his collegiate career having recorded 296 total tackles, 18 for loss, 7.5 sacks and an interception. He recorded 124 of those tackles during the 2014 road to the National Championship, earning second place in the Big Ten in total tackles. Perry had a career night late that season against Penn State, where he amassed 18 tackles on the night. His tackling ability and athleticism combined with his passion, will force opposing offenses to account for him when drawing up their schemes.

The fan favorite was invite to participate in the Senior Bowl following the 2015 season, but was forced to sit out with a hamstring issue. He rehabbed well and was able to workout at the NFL Combine, where he was a top performer among linebackers in the broad jump at 124.0" and ran a 4.68-second 40-yard dash. The 6'4, 254-pound Buckeye proved he's a productive tackler and is well-conditioned to play through the fourth quarter.

In addition to his on-field success, Perry is a fan favorite for his off-field character. He was named an all-state AFCA All-Good Works Team member, and was a finalist for the Lott IMPACT, Senior CLASS Award, and the Wuerffel Trophy, and also earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.
