Ohio State makes final cut for 5-star offensive tackle

The Buckeyes are in the mix for another class of 2017 standout.
Even though Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff have inked two straight solid offensive line classes, and currently have two ultra-talented prospects verbally committed to join the Buckeyes in 2017 in Josh Myers and Jake Moretti, a number of lineman are still considering suiting up for OSU. Those ranks include Isaiah Wilson of Poly Prep in Brooklyn, New York.
After naming numerous top lists over the last few months, Wilson -- a massive, 6'7, 320-pound, five-star recruit --announced that his recruitment is down to five programs. Though he picked up well over dozen scholarship offers throughout the process, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Michigan (who many believe are the flat out leader for his services) are the final schools in the mix to grab Isaiah's pledge.
Not only one of the heaviest recruited players at his position, but also the entire country, Wilson is currently considered the fifth offensive tackle and 16th overall prospect in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite.
OSU commits shine in Orlando
Many of the most sought-after recruits in the country flocked to Orlando to participate in Nike's The Opening Regional, held in the Sunshine State on Sunday. Surprising no one in attendance, a pair of future Ohio State defensive backs stood out among the talented list of prospects on hand.
Turning heads during their time in Orlando, Ohio State class of 2017 verbal commits Marcus Williamson and Isaiah Pryor were selected to participate in this summer's The Opening, an annual camp placing the best high school prospects against each other in a number of different events at the headquarters of Nike in Beaverton, Oregon.
Williamson, a Westerville native, was named MVP of the defensive backs. He and Pryor are joined by numerous IMG Academy teammates, and a one-time OSU lean turned Georgia pledge on the list of recruits picked for The Opening. Bulldog commit Richard LeCounte, linebackers Jordan Anthony and Will Ignont, and offensive linemen Robert Hainsey and Cesar Ruiz will all head out west with the two future silver bullets.
Pryor and Williamson follow in the footsteps of many Buckeyes who have had the chance to attend The Opening. Raekwon McMillan, Jalyn Holmes, Dante Booker, Parris Campbell, Jashon Cornell, Justin Hilliard, and Torrance Gibson are just a few of the Ohio State players to have participated in the event.
Another group of prospects will have the chance to earn their shot to go to Oregon next weekend, as the regional camps keep trucking in Los Angeles.
Wade talks talents
All eyes have been glued to current Ohio State 2017 commit Shaun Wade's recruitment. While many top notch programs are trying to keep him close to his Florida home, the five-star standout once again stated that he is all Buckeye over the weekend.
Although he has pleaded a matter of times that he is "100%" committed to OSU, he isn't done visiting schools and taking calls from coaches. After taking a trip to Gainesville to mingle with the Florida staff, Wade is scheduled to attend Alabama's junior day later this week.
With receivers getting taller and faster, Wade, a bigger cornerback at 6'2 and around 190 pounds, is the prototypical defensive back college coaches are searching the recruiting trail to bring into their program. Looking to hopefully shut down his recruitment this summer, Shaun will definitely have the OSU staff on their toes over the coming months.
