Ohio State @ Maryland, Saturday, February 23, 2:00 PM, ESPN

they could have rolled over and died when it went from 39-36 to 50-36 but they battled back. That's about the ceiling for this group. It's not good enough for what should be expected at Ohio State, but at least they haven't quit. I still think they get into the tournament as a 10 or 11 seed.

you're just not going to win at maryland if kaleb and muhammad go donkeydick/20 overall and dickcheese/11 behind the arc. good battle without jackson, though. there were plenty of positives to take from this game, notably from woods and ahrens.

justin looks to be stealing more of jallow's minutes. ahrens' defense is shaky at best (game's turning point might have been when he catapulted himself into the deep shooter); however, with the bulk of our problems centering on the inability to put the round thing through the hoop thing, let's hope that coach goes with the guy who showcases at least a shred of offensive talent. i wish i could say that jallow's future looks bright, but i'm not going to lie. he's a bench-sitter next season without the kind of offseason progress that he obviously didn't have last summer. between him and ledee, i'll be a little surprised if at least one doesn't transfer. there is going to be some harsh realism from the coaching staff if they don't see ample progress the next 8 months.

the sum of today's loss is that not too much was lost. after all, it's not as though anyone penciled in a win at college park. the home games versus iowa and wisconsin should be highly winnable.

we haven't beat a T30-ish team all season, doesn't matter if we're at home or not.

@Northwestern is probably our best remaining bet for another win.

I am sure the Iowa game will probably be close but Bohannon will shoot like three straight step-back 3s to put it away at the very end. Against Wiscy we'll lead by two points and we'll give Happ the and-1 and for once in his life he will hit a clutch free throw. @Purdue Carsen will probably find his shot again just in time to hang 40 on us.

if this team have proven anything to me so far, it's that they are going to find a way not to win the big ones.
