Ohio State Men's Ice Hockey (2019 B1G Champions)

3 down 12 to go. In my mind, we need to take 15 points in the next three weekends against Sparty, Ped and Cheese and then look to split against tsun and Gopher. Started out right last night and showed Sparty a 4-1 proper rogering. We do move into first place after Gopher beat tsun in OT, but let's not start sucking each others dicks just yet. That's not as good as it sounds because it means the two schools picked up a total of 4 points instead of the 3 that would have been on the table had the game ended in regulation or a shootout. That being said, we probably want the tsun tonight to come out and pick up a regulation or shootout win since Gopher has two more games left to play than everyone else.

Right now it's

THEE 30 points
tsun 29
Gopher 28 (have two more games left to play than the other top four, which is a huge advantage down the stretch)
Domers 24 (off this weekend)

And as an added bonus to last night's hockey, Fredo got taken out on the lake by St Cloud State 11-1.

Correction to the standings. They hadn't given tsun their point for the OT loss on Friday yet. We were tied with them at 30 going into last night's game. tsun won last night, so we're both tied at 33 now. Gopher and domer stay at 28 and 24 respectively. As painful as it was, tsun winning last night was good. That 5 point lead on Gopher almost negates their extra weekend of games. Aside from taking care of our own business, we are probably going to need some help from the domers when they play tsun the last weekend of the season.

Looks like tsun is also going to be missing 4 players to the Olympics, which can't hurt.

Two this weekend in the showers of Rhythmic Slapping Valley. We need to keep our streak going and get the sweep....no soap battles. Then we'll be playing at home against Cheese with house money and can afford to drop a game. Gopher plays Domer; we don't want a Gopher sweep. tsun plays Cheese; obviously we want Cheese to sweep, but I'll be happy with a split.

OT loss to the pedsters. Amazed that it went to overtime. The pedsters outplayed us all three periods. Domers and Cheese failed to give us any help also. All in all, a pretty bad night salvaged only by the women's OT win over Minnesota. So tsun is now two points ahead of us in the conference, and Gopher shaved our lead on them to four points. Keep in mind that Gopher has two more games to play than us and three of their final four weekends are against the bottom three teams, so that lead is essentially nothing.

Boys need to put on the foil tonight and keep it on next week against Cheese.

Boys put the foil on tonight and curb stomped the peds 6-0. Funniest thing is that the ped announcers gave some passive-aggressive credit to Dobes saying that "while he had a bit of luck." No, motherfucker, when you take 48 shots on goal a d stop every God damned one of them there ain't a bit of luck involved. It means that your wallet has BAD MOTHERFUCKER stitched on it.

Rise 3 in the poll (9th) but drop 1 in the pairwise (10th) Domers came through for us on Saturday amd denied Gopher the sweep. We're 7 points ahead of them, so if can do no more than match them in points, they won't be able to overtake us on that last weekend while we're sitting home with nothing but our ducks in our hand.

Domer is 13 back and pretty much out of it, though they still might make the ncaa tourney.

tsun is two points ahead of us. Each of us has one weekend off (there's is this weekend), so we should move into first this weekend. That being said, we'll probably need some help from others as well as getting at least 3 points when we head to Ann Arbor to win the regular season. Can't stress how important it is for the guys to put on the foil this weekend and sweep Cheese.
