Buckeyes remain #1 in latest ITA rankings released March 5,
5 Buckeyes also earned enough points to be ranked in top 100 singles release.
#1 JJ Wolf, (with a bigger gap over the pack from last rankings release)
#27 John McNally, #28 Kyle Seelig, #69 Martin Joyce, #81 Alex Kobelt;
Also Four OSU doubles teams were ranked in the top 60.
During this week when OSU has no matches scheduled, JJ Wolf earned entry to a major pro ATP qualifier.
Yesterdays results were shared by the official osu twitter site.

Buckeyes are in Texas for two outdoor matches
tonight vs. the aggies of a and m, and then #3 ranked Texas longhorns Thursday.
This annual southern early road trip is a necessary evil, they typically result in a big reality check. This time of the season brings equality to the tennis world.
The big challenges for Bucks,
A&M Mitchell stadium is a tough crowd and venue for opponents, coupled with major transition for Buckeyes from Indoor to outdoor conditions, wind, shadows slower court surfaces and a 6 pm ct start. Aggies are on an 8 match win streak, so they are very hot.
I have Tempered expectations but will be grateful to get a couple points, would love to at least split the road trip.
Texas will be even tougher on Thursday!

The bad from last night,
1. obviously a loss to a top sec team.
2. With #3 ranked Texas on Thursday, Prospects for a split of the southern trip are dim.
The good,
1. the Final score from Texas A & M was a more respectable 4-3 loss, When the w was secured, the teams did not abandon unfinished matches and Mc Nally and Tubert won 3rd sets.
2. The Bucks won dubs point without their number one dubs pairing.
3. This was not the Bucks at full strength, Wolfs absence from the lineup bumped everyone up a line and added Siebert,
4. though Tim lost at 5, it was good to see him back in competition.
5. In the ITA rankings team losses are not penalized severely and Bucks will not drop from the top.
6. The necessary transition of a northern team from an indoor to outdoor venue has an early start and the Bucks will be stronger when B1G play begins.

JJ Wolf is not in the lineup for the Buckeyes southern swing through Texas
JJ has been playing up north in Canada at an ATP pro tour event and has competed very successfully. Yesterday he defeated former Cal #1 in straight sets.
Tonight he beat former UVa #1 and atp #264 Thai Son Kwatkowski by a 6-1, 6-2 final. Next round will apparently be vs #2 seed Thursday morning.
So it’s Not looking like he will rejoin the Buckeyes for Thurs.

Buckeyes will travel to Austin on Thursday for a 6:30 pm start.
News shocked the horns today when widely respected men’s tennis coach Michael Center was indicted by the FBI for receiving $100,000 in cash from a handler in the college admission scandal. The coach has been placed on leave by the university.

Edit: Yesterday Texas fired Coach Center, replaced with assistant coach.
