Ohio State Duo Halts Ciamarra/Harper’s Lucky Loser Run
Lucky losers Richard Ciamarra and Cleeve Harper came close to continuing their run in the doubles draw, but Ohio State’s James Trotter and Justin Boulais edged them out in a third-set tiebreaker. The Buckeyes comfortably took the first set, but the Longhorns were not going to be put away that easily. Ciamarra/Harper surged ahead in the second and evened the match at a set a piece. Despite coming into the tiebreak with the momentum and the energy, the Texas team fell behind early on. The momentum swung back and forth in the tiebreak, but the Buckeyes maintained their lead the entire time. They will face Oregon’s Charleton/Vandecasteele tomorrow in the quarterfinals.

The big news from today, 4 Buckeyes advanced as two doubles pairs are into the semifinals of the all American tournament in Tulsa.
Boulais and Trotter won in a third set super breaker, while cash and Vocel who started in the qualifying rounds continued their dominance with a straight set win in the main draw quarterfinal.
In the main draw of singles, Kingsley fell in the round of 16, JJTracy won his round of 16, however with an hour of rest and playing his 7th match in 5 days dropped his quarterfinal match 6-7, 5-7.
Matej Vocel also scored some impressive wins in the consolation draw as he advanced to the semis in the back draw.

Strong performance by dubs, a spot where Bucks showed they were vulnerable last season.
Very impressed with Vocel, as dubs player, .... Compliments Robert Cash well. Both Hold with high first serve percentage, consisistent, strong returns and great instincts at the net.
Trotter and Boulais can get hot, very mobile and rip returns out of nowhere.
When Van Emburg comes into the system will be interested to see who and how coach Tucker makes the #3 pair.

Dubs pair of Trotter and Boulais take down Usc in straight sets and advance to the final.
Osu 2nd pair Cash, Vocel started later because rest for vocal after he won consolation semi. They took first set and are up a break vs Tennessee .
Edit.
Bucks place 2 in the finals as cash/vocel sweep.6-2, 6-4.

Big weekend for Buckeyes at several venues.
Cannon Kingsley is performing well in a pro tournament in New York.
At the ITA Fall nationals, san Diego J J Tracey won 2 matches but dropped his quarterfinal match in 3 sets to the #1 seed.
Incoming transfer Matej Vocel looks relentless.

On the Kentucky dubs quarterfinal team was former Buckeye JJ Mercer who transferred this fall.
