Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

McNally dropped a 3 setter to King, however both JJ wolf and Martin Joyce won first round matches. Joyce was a major underdog to world ranked no. 224!
Kyle Seelig is playing against USA pro krajicek now and Torp is scheduled for prime time tonight.
$75 k prize money brings a lot of quality competition, including 23 pros ranked 299 and under in the world.

Fall season kicks off with the ITA All American Tournament, Sept. 30 - Oct. 9 in Tulsa.
http://www.itatennis.com/Events/ITANationalChampionships/MensAllAmerican.htm
The draw starts with Pre-qualifying rounds, Sept. 30, qualifiers Oct. 2 and the main draw, Oct. 5.
Buckeyes selected for each category include:
Pre-Q; Hunter Tubert, Matt Mendez, Riley Reist, Alex Kobelt.
Qual; Kyle Seelig, Martin Joyce, and John McNally
Main Draw; Torpegaard and JJ Wolf..
Change in the ITA site and nothing on the OSU official site, but no Buckeyes are entered in the prequalifer round today.
I recall some rules associated with limits on team events. Max of 4 players can appear at a tourney or it will be considered a team event. Ncaa limits team events to 25 per school year.
So Bucks may be sending a small squad to Tulsa and a larger contingent to the regional and or B1G team challenge.

Three Buckeyes won their first round of qualifying at the Tulsa all American tourney. Two rounds will be played today. Martin Joyce, Kyle Seelig and freshman John McNally will need two wins to advance to the main draw. Because of their preseason ITA rankings Buckeyes JJ Wolf and Michael Torpegaard have qualified for the main draw.
Yesterday McNally and Wolf also won two doubles matches in the qualies. One more win today would advance them to join Torp and Joyce in the main draw.

Torp advances to the round of 16 where he will face U Texas #1 singles player today at 11am.
In yesterday's match Torp was down in the 3rd set 0-2 (0-30) and ripped off 14 straight points to go up 4-2 and eventually win the decisive set 6-3.
Torp just has another gear and when he is locked in, is nearly unbeatable.
Kyle Seelig also is competing in the consolation round.

Martin Joyce is in the semis of the Midwest region of the ITA tournament, with winner getting an invite to the big ITA tourney in November.
The top two Buckeyes skipped the regional,
Torp is already qualified for the ITA fall event and Sophomore JJ Wolf is playing at the Harlingen TX futures event, $25 K.
Good choice for Wolf as he advanced through the rounds and defeated Kirchhiemer in the finals for his first pro title!
