Game Thread Ohio State @ Michigan State - 11/10/18, 12:00PM (FOX)

By the way, here’s something else the tape will show: two big drives were killed when Tate came in. Should have pounded the ball with the RBs. They were doing extremely well in the second half.
Tate didnt kill any drives... so not sure what ur talking about.

One was killed by a false start by the OL and one was killed by a errant snap.

I thought everytime Tate came in we magically had a ton of room to run. On the errant snap it looked like Tate was going to throw so that's a good sign.

Tate gave us energy... he did not kill drives

Re-watching it now;

1st series, 4th and 1 and salty fuck Dantonio goes for it at his own 35.

It was stopped but John clown fucker O'Nielandbob and his band of incompetent glory hole workers call it a first down.

I fucking hate the B1G for it's officials and it's unwritten rule that OSU must play Sparty in November to give the best possible odds for a talent-less 4 corners offense type of football team to get a bad weather game chance against OSU.

Let the computer randomly set the schedule and let's get these cocksuckers on a warm early September day and see how it turns out for them.

One thing the SEC does right; the league doesn't find ways to make it harder for their premier team(s). They don't schedule fuck them (2016) and they don't referee fuck them.

Like a bye week before a top 5 match up and then a AA team the week prior to their rivalries.

I agree the SEC does everything they can to make life easy on their big schools. We should do the same by adding a 4th non conference game with less league play

2nd offensive series; hey coaches...TE's can't block DE's 1 on 1.

Wilawhateverthefuckis just rag dolled a TE and made yet another play in the backfield as the Tackle and Guard combo blocked the shit out of a nobody DT.

If you want a TE to do stuff like that what happened to the OG squeezed into an #83 jersey?

They don't just do it right, they do it damn near as perfect as one could ask for.

The BIG is a fucking joke when it comes to scheduling. They have no interest in allowing a team to recover from a loss. They have no interest in taking advantage of any rankings a weaker team might get in future years either. Our conference schedule is planned out until 2025. Conference schedule for Bama is TBA for 2020 and onward. I don't think Bama even will play anybody until October next year, and that's after a bye week.

@ORD_Buckeye touched on it in another thread and I agree, Delany and the B1G sports brass just don't seem to grasp what their SEC counterparts are doing to win the war.

B1G sports brass are fighting by The Marquess of Queensberry Rules while the SEC guys are wrapping foil around their knuckles.

Haven't rewatched it yet, but I'm happy both for a 20 point win and that the game was over. If this was a team after week 4, I'd be concerned but cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately it's now week 11 and this team is in no man's land offensively. Pieces are still there it looks like an engine without oil.

Anyway, here's the GIFcap:

I want to rewatch it today but in real time I thought I saw a lot of positives when he came in. Instantly took away the extra defender and (I think) you could see the difference.

I lived in FL when Meyer took that very underwhelming 2006 team into the NC game against the unbeatable team that year.

I really like the idea of a Tebow package in short yardage and goal line. It's fine to know it's coming, you still have to stop it as a defense and it's difficult because you don't know exactly what's coming.
What made Tebow and Barrett so good is how devastating and crafty they were at picking up ugly yards. Tate is the opposite. He is demps or Rainey in the UF comparison.

I like what Tate brings to the table in the red zone because he at least keeps the defense honest--they cannot completely ignore him as a runner like they can with Dwayne. It's a numbers game. That said, Tate wasn't perfect yesterday. I don't know if the coaches told him not to keep it or if he was just a bit tentative, but there was one play where he let Weber have the ball, but it was a complete misread--Tate would've walked into the end zone untouched had he pulled the ball from Weber.

At the half, Dobbins had 23 yards and Weber had 0.

Again, a change after the half is what resulted in positive yardage with Weber running to the outside. Had absolutely 0 to do with Tate playing, since Haskins was in.

Tate came in for a drive that ended with a false start on 4th and 1 when the Bucks were going to go for it, forcing a punt, followed by a fumble on a snap in the red zone.

Have you guys actually gone back to watch the game?

I'd argue that the OSU OL and RB stable is much better than the Tebow era UF teams so while he is admittedly no Tebow/Barrett, it is enough that he is a legit run threat.

That will allow Webber or Dobbins to do the damage.

Anything is better than giving the defense an extra guy.
