Anthony Hines put the Buckeyes in his list of 10 schools

Bucks make the cut, yet again

The defensive side of the ball in the 2017 Ohio State recruiting class is easily at or near the top of the list in the entire country. Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell has to be licking his chops at what is coming in the near future. Yesterday, the good news for Ohio State trend continued as the nation's top ranked inside linebacker trimmed his list to a final ten schools out of an incredible ninety scholarship offers with the Buckeyes making the cut.

Anthony Hines (Plano, TX / Plano East) announced via his Twitter yesterday that he was down to ten schools that he is still considering before making a final college decision. Announcing the ten schools by video, Hines is still high on Oklahoma, Florida, UCLA, Texas and Auburn among others.

From 90 to 10....dreams to reality!! S/o to the boy @Hayesfawcett3 !! My Top 10 schools in the link below!! https://t.co/7RkpG18OYo

Schools that are currently leading the way for Hines via the 247sports crystal ball predictions are Oklahoma and the in-state Texas Longhorns, but after a June 10-12 visit to Ohio State, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes are still certainly in the mix for the top linebacker.

We will see how his recruitment continues to narrow down, but while at Nike's The Opening, Hines was seen wearing Ohio State gear which will easily excite Buckeye fans everywhere.

What does it take to play at Ohio State?

In recruiting, the 2017 class to most could not get any better, but with so many 4-star and 5-star prospects still very high on the Buckeyes, the top ranked class is bound to get an even higher boost. One thing that is for sure: Urban Meyer and Mark Pantoni are at the top of their game with this class.

People always ask...

What does it take to play at Ohio St?

Simply put...

Be the best

OSU can make Lindsey's dreams come true

If you're one of the select few elite athletes in high schools football, the premier camp to attend is Nike's The Opening. Currently going on in Eugene, Ore., Ohio State has a litter of current commits competing and several more targets in attendance. One 5-star target who needs no introduction, Tyjon Lindsey (Corona, CA / Centennial) is currently one of the select studs in Oregon.

We know Lindsey is high on the Buckeyes first and foremost. Former teammate and close personal friend Tate Martell has been all over Lindsey with the pro-Ohio State recruitment talks since his commitment in June. While things are definitely looking great for the Buckeyes in terms of Lindsey, while at The Opening, Tyjon took time to talk with scout.com and later reported on by Cleveland.com, Lindsey shows exactly why the Buckeyes are right at the top of his final schools.

To put it simply, Lindsey wants to win championships and play for a title contender at the next level and he knows that can happen at Ohio State. To see the full interview, use the link below.

Akers repping OSU in Oregon

Cam Akers (Clinton, MS / Clinton) continues to be the main guy Ohio State wants in their future backfield – and in their 2017 recruiting class. While it was reported just last week in this segment, Akers was starting to seriously trend toward Ohio State in the 247sports crystal ball predictions graph. The last six predictions being in favor of the Buckeyes certainly give the feel that Akers to Ohio State is becoming a serious storyline.

Yesterday, while in Oregon for Nike's The Opening, Akers was seen representing Ohio State as the Buckeye gear was seen upon Akers's arrival. Cam's recruitment still has a ways to go before anything is final, but as each day passes, the two schools of Ohio State and Ole Miss look to be the final two to really have a shot at the 5-star product with the Buckeyes looking to take the driver's seat for Akers.

Ezekiel Elliott sighting turns heads

There's hardly any downtime for a first round NFL Draft pick, but former Buckeye running back and legend Ezekiel Elliott has made his way to Oregon to visit for Nike's The Opening. As a former Opening alum, Elliott is the perfect example to these current Opening campers as to what can happen if you work as hard as possible at the next level and at every opportunity that is extended. While in Oregon yesterday, Elliott seemed to be the center of attention as countless recruits took time to spend with the future NFL stud.

Obviously great for Ohio State recruiting, Urban Meyer has to love his former star running back selling Ohio State to the country's best prospects.

Quick Hits:

  • Current 4-star Ohio State quarterback commit Danny Clark announced he will be in attendance for the July Ohio State Friday Night Lights camp.
  • Parkersburg High School 2017 running back Jaden Lacaria will be in attendance for Ohio State's Friday night Lights camp.
  • Mansfield, Ohio class of 2018 receiver Jornell Manns has been invited to Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp.
