Game Thread Ohio State @ Purdue - 10/20/18, 7:30PM (ABC)

I get why everyone is concerned about this game, given the Buckeyes’ struggles, and Urban’s struggle with Purdue since coming to Ohio State. But outside of Boston College, Purdue really hasn’t played anyone noteworthy this season. They started the season 0-3 against NW, EMU, and Missouri. Then they beat Boston College pretty convincingly, beat Nebraska, and absolutely obliterated Illinois. It may be noteworthy that they beat BC, but BC also hasn’t done a whole lot to warrant their ranking. The only respectable team they’ve played, they lost (NC State).

I get Rondale Moore is going to do some damage, and I think that’s a given. But I truthfully can’t see Moore changing the complete outlook of the game, quite like he nearly did against Northwestern in the first game of the season (again, a loss). They’ve got a decent run game, and a QB that plays smart. But I just don’t feel much concern going into this game like I’ve had in year’s past against Purdue. I really hope we see some improvement out of the Linebackers. If they can make some plays, I don’t think the secondary will be as big of an issue as it has been most of the season. Pryor made a nice read last week, and got an INT. Now hopefully he builds off of that.

Here’s to hoping the offensive line can create some holes for the run game, and continue to do well in pass pro.

Watching a bit of the Purdue Illi game, Purdue uses the middle of the field a lot in the pass game then deep hits off of that. That worries me as Buckeye D has been less than efficient covering the middle of the field though have been covering the deep ball better.

Yes and a few more where he dribbles about how easy it is to throw it under your receivers in stride so he benefits from open receivers not so much accuracy and ability to read the field.
You would think a fan of Purdue would be well versed in the lack of actual QB history at Ohio State out of necessity. Like....you're Purdue. You don't have much to hang your hat on vs Ohio State....but you've got Drew Brees. You'd think they'd be used to saying something like "at least our QBs actually do things in the NFL"........which would lead me to think they would understand that whatever advantages Dwayne has currently as far as talent and coaching also existed for JT, Braxton, Troy Smith, The Bs, Pryor,.....and yet none of them have come close to what Dwayne is doing.

But then I realize it's just a doofus on the internet being dumb.

Purdue is just a voodoo doll, waiting for Ohio State to stick the pins in to scare the hell out of future opponents.

They’re getting dumped. Hard.

Boiler up my balls before we shove them deep in Rondale’s mediocre performance.

People scared of Purdue should take a dirt nap. None of their players are on McSorley’s level and he took a loss at home, at night, under one of the most vicious crowds in all of college football as a top ten opponent. Get ready to soil yourselves, because the only train getting derailed on Saturday night hails from some no name town in Indiana.

Love it. Only thing Boiler makers are going to boil is some Buck Nuts in their mouths. Teabag these mother fuckers.

I like YOUR optimism too!

I'm slowly getting there. More I think about it, more I'm feeling that OSU as a team is going to come out angry. Reminds of last year when they looked like total shit against Iowa. Made me terrified of facing Sparty the week after. Then OSU went out and reminded the B1G who's the most talented team in the conference.

Honestly, it's always when I know we will lose that we come out and embarrass someone.

Well I've not liked this matchup for quite some time and this is just the kind of game where you think we will slip up but it's not even close.

Here's the facts... Purdue has lost to Eastern Michigan, a 3 loss Missouri team, and a mediocre NW team. There wins? Boston College who's decent and the two worst big ten schools this year.

They're between Minnesota and Indiana.. maybe better than both but maybe not?

Only way they have a shot is getting stops on our offense and considering they're 110th or something against the pass that's not great news.

Game still concerns me majorly but I'm starting to think we it ends up not being all that close.
