One of Ohio State's early enrollees is logging off.

After graduating high school life comes at you pretty fast. Soon-to-be Ohio State running back Antonio Williams is more than ready to put the distractions in the rear view mirror to focus on his future. Arriving on the OSU campus to start classes on January 11 as one of the Buckeyes' early class of 2016 enrollees, Williams plans to go a different route than some of his peers.

While most college students are tweeting friends and posting lyrics to their favorite songs, the 5'11, 210-pound, four-star standout is logging off the social media site. Wanting to have his full attention on reaching his academics and athletics goals he has set for himself, Williams plans to take a break from the Twitter universe when he arrives in Columbus next month.

Williams will be joined on campus by wide receiver Austin Mack, linebacker Tuf Borland, offensive linemen Tyler Gerald and Michael Jordan, and defensive linemen Malik Barrow and Jonathon Cooper. Not only will Antonio and the aforementioned players have a jump start on their 2016 classmates, the group will also be eligible to go through spring drills with the Buckeyes.

As a senior for North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina, Williams, the sixth running back and 163rd overall prospect in the class of 2016, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, rushed for well over 2,000 yards and nearly 30 touchdowns for the 8-4 Vikings.

January 11th I'm logging off of Twitter and focusing on reaching my goals at OSU ❗⭕

Multiple fields to work on ✔ A weight room that's always available ✔ Surplus amount of film ✔ Only I can stop myself from being great at OSU

Look for updates throughout the week.
  • Class of 2017 defensive tackle Fred Hansard is just one of the prospects looking forward to building a relationship with newly hired OSU assistant Greg Schiano.
