Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets - Buckeyes look at DT options, offer K'Von Wallace

Ohio State made an offer to K'Von Wallace. Could he find his way into this class? Plus, Urban Meyer looks to the future at defensive tackle.
With just over a week until National Signing Day, things have already gotten wild and that pace will keep up over the next several days. Let's dive into the latest.
Plenty of options at DB
Ohio State sent out an offer to 2016 prospect K'Von Wallace on Tuesday evening. Wallace, a defensive back, holds 11 total offers.

January has been a busy month for the 6'0 athlete, as Wallace has picked up other offers from Michigan State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech all within the past couple of weeks. It's evident that he had a strong senior season, but we aren't yet sure if it's enough to get a spot in this class.
Ohio State still feels good about Jordan Fuller, though he visited Michigan last weekend. Is Wallace a plan-B guy if Fuller looks elsewhere? It's entirely possible that Ohio State could take both if they strike out with defensive tackles as well. This one demands attention over the next several days. Wallace is currently committed to Cincinnati.
Also, over the weekend, Texas prospect Obi Eboh de-committed from the Texas Longhorns to open his recruitment back up. Yesterday, he made it known to the public that he's down to Stanford and Ohio State as his two finalists. With spots at a premium for the rest of the 2016 class, it's unknown whether Ohio State is a legit contender or just another hat on the table. Eboh is a three-star prospect who holds 32 offers. He has elite size for a cornerback at 6'2 and 190 pounds.

So, here's the deal. Jordan Fuller is set to announce his decision on February 1. If he ends up picking Ohio State, then it could mean that the Buckeyes are done with defensive backs for this cycle and use the rest of their spots at other positions. However, if Fuller pulls a shocker -- yes, it would be a surprise it Fuller is not a Buckeye -- then Ohio State may choose to pursue harder for Eboh's or Wallace's commitment.
Meyer checks in with Solomon
Urban Meyer hit the road on Tuesday, working on the 2017 class as he was in Georgia visiting with defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. Solomon attends the same high school that Stephen Collier graduated from, Lee County. Solomon is a 6'3, 305-pound defensive tackle who is a nightmare to handle in the trenches. Solomon is currently the number seven rated DT in the country with offers from some of the best programs in the country: Ohio State, Florida State, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Auburn to name a few.

With Jerron Cage already committed for 2017, Ohio State will look to add a couple for defensive tackles in next year's cycle. Solomon would be a huge gain for Ohio State. Though it'll be tough to pull him from the south, the Buckeyes have had recent success in the state of Georgia. Ohio State's 2017 class is expected to be off the charts, rankings-wise. There's a decent chance that Solomon ends up being a part of it. Just know, this recruiting battle won't end anytime soon and likely goes through the summer and into next winter.
