With signing day just three weeks away, Ohio State is looking to add a slew of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

The recruiting dead period is just about over as it's set to officially expire at 12 a.m. Thursday. Though there hasn't been a shortage of news the last couple of weeks with the All-American Bowls going on, with the dead period ending prospects are now allowed to talk to coaches face-to-face instead of being permitted to only over the phone. We haven't been robbed of news during this dead period, but expect things to pick up fast as we head down the home stretch to National Signing Day, which is now only three weeks away.

With National Signing Day in sight, the country's top classes are starting to take shape. Right now, according to ESPN, Ohio State has the number four rated class -- sandwiched between Florida State and Michigan.

As we know, the Buckeyes are looking to add a quarterback, with option A being Dwayne Haskins and option B being Tylin Oden. Ohio State is set at running back and most likely set on the offensive line.

When it comes to wide receiver there are a few options in play. Florida wideout Binjimen Victor has had the Buckeyes at the top of his list throughout his recruiting process. He has a close relationship with coach Zach Smith and assuming Smith is on staff when signing day rolls around, Ohio State is likely the destination for the four-star receiver.

Staying in Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Sam Bruce, a Miami commit, has real interest in Ohio State and this one is something to watch over the next few weeks. Bruce had a close relationship with Hurricanes WR coach Kevin Beard, but Beard was fired last month which opens the door for a few schools. Bruce could still very well end up signing with Miami, but the Buckeyes have more than a glimmer of hope here. Bruce would be an electrifying slot receiver at the next level. Ohio State is a familiar name at St. Thomas Aquinas and the Buckeyes are hoping to steal Bruce from the Sunshine State.

If Victor and Bruce both fall through, Ohio State has the option to pick up in-state prospect Jonah Morris. Morris holds 12 offers, notably from Notre Dame and Michigan State, but not one from the Buckeyes. Ohio State won't take three more receivers in this class so they will be selective. If Ohio State makes an offer it's likely that Morris is part of this class and it consequently means that the Buckeyes struck out on the two former prospects as well.

Lawrence visiting LSU

On defense, Rashard Lawrence is the biggest name the Buckeyes are chasing on the defensive line. This one is down to LSU and Ohio State and the Bucks have a puncher's chance. It's a tough task to pull elite kids out of Louisiana from the Tigers. News broke on Tuesday that Lawrence will be making a visit to LSU this coming weekend, a visit that was not officially scheduled previously -- this according to 247Sports. Lawrence could be on commit watch as this visit news doesn't exactly bode well for Ohio State.
