Game Thread Ohio State @ Rutgers - 11/16/19, 3:30PM (BTN)

Oh, I watched well before 1991. Just that's when I came to my senses and decided I would refuse to not see each game. Prior to that, I'd have to work the occasional Saturday, including scUM 1991. I listened on the radio those days.
Coming into this season, I have listened or watched games in the bloody African bush. Breaks my heart to see one seat empty in that stadium.

The only thing that bothered me was getting turned back on two straight downs at the goal line. Running the football with attitude at tOSU should be as big a birthright for us as great defense.

Glad someone mentioned it. The narrative is starting to become "the starters did their usual and the second team defense gave up 21" and that just isn't the case.

The starters muffed a punt, gave up a 1st quarter TD, gave up 2 plays of 20+ yards and got stuffed on the goal line.

It was not an inspired effort.

Let's hope it was simply a lack of focus.

I think it was a bit of lack of focus and overconfidence. Played cocky and it showed on that muffed punt and lazy execution on the goal line. Rutgers played pissed and Buckeyes played like no matter what they did they would win and they did. This team will be focused and ready to kill Ped St. And a certain #2 is itching to rip off limbs.

I'm 99% sure it was just this. I highly doubt Rutgers of all teams found some chink in OSU's armor when the Buckeyes have been clubbing far better and more talented teams over the head for the past 12 weeks. Many dominant teams have either a game where they simply either lack focus or clearly aren't giving it 100%.

Fields threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns...
...in ONE half of play and Dobbins rushed for 89. Meanwhile, wonderkind Shea took 4 quarters to amass 389 yards and the entire Michigan running game gained less than Dobbins, mush of it on some scrambles by Shea from Sparty's three man rush.

Perspective.

I simply can't envision anything else. The line was 50+ for cryin' out loud.
