Game Thread Ohio State @ That TeaX Up North - 11/30/19, Noon (FOX)

I would never cheer for Aohio. Like I said - I would cheer for an ISIS college team coached by Hitler before I would ever cheer for the buckeyes. Do I hope you beat the SEC… You must be kidding me.

I welcome Clemson Georgia LSU or any school to throttle you.

The downside of the SEC beating you ..if there is any downside - is listening to the SEC chirp about how great their conference is. That was my point. I would welcome those SEC Snipes and chirps over you beating any SEC at any time. Don’t ever worry about “us “ Cheering for you under any circumstances. I would rather be dead. I cherish The memories of your filthy school getting beaten - believe me.
No shit, you dumb fuck.

Another beating. Scar tissue ripped open. Every waking day throughout the year I think of how we can beat Ohio. We have lost every game 15 years in a row. 2011 does not count. Each loss comes with a different type of pain - last year was the worst. This year I feel less shattered. Bitterly disappointed... yes. I Got what I expected from Dobbins. Fields played better than I thought he would. Ohio’s defense did it as much as I thought they would. Michigan defense was horrendous. I was absolutely shocked at some of the dumb penalties Michigan took today. That adds to my bitterness.

Ohio are legit - but in the playoffs your pass defense better have adjusted - so I do not have to hear about how great the SEC is.

I stand by my statement that Ohio millennial’s do not and cannot understand this rivalry. Until you are crushed and dragged through the Mire of defeat - and see the other school standing on your field singing their anthem - you can never understand the rivalry. To truly understand it - you need to suffer the pain of defeats ... and you have not.

For example ....I recognize some of the venom spewed on this thread… It was brewed in the 90s.

Over the next 364 days I will obsess about recruiting and how this team can be built to beat Ohio. I can only damn well hope that Michigan coaching are doing the same.... the fear lingers that they are not.

You have zero god damn idea what a millennial is then. Because myself, crossing that tender threshold into your 30's, remembers quite well the disaster that was Cooper and my childhood.

You're the old dude yelling "millennial" at any college age kid.

You came back for your crow but continue to embarrass yourself.

The 10 Most Incredible Facts From Ohio State 56, Michigan 27

19-11-30-FB-1001.jpg

0-5
Harbaugh made history on Saturday by becoming the first coach for either school to start his career 0-5 in the series.

John Cooper (1988-1991) and Albert Herrnstein (1906-1909) both started 0-4.

Herrnstein had the decency not to try a fifth time. Cooper broke his streak with the tie mentioned above.

.7298
With the win over Michigan, Ohio State is now the top major-conference program in the nation by winning percentage. OSU’s .7298 (a record of 923-325-53) puts them just slightly ahead of Michigan’s .7297 (962-345-36).

So now when Ohio State fans tell Michigan fans that their “winningest program” claim is based solely on having started to play the sport before most other teams, they’ll be 100 percent correct.

4
J.K. Dobbins is the first Buckeye in more than half a century to put up four touchdown runs in a single game against Michigan.

Jim Otis had four against the Wolverines in a 50-14 win in 1968.

Bob Ferguson also scored four times against Michigan in a 50-20 win in 1961.

Jonathan Wells was seemingly on his way to doing it in 2001 with three first-half rushing touchdowns, but sprained his ankle and had to leave the game in the middle of the third quarter.

4-0
For the first time in program history, the Buckeyes are on a four-game winning streak in Ann Arbor.

OSU beat Michigan in Michigan Stadium in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019.

The Bucks are 7-1 in Ann Arbor since 2005.

For comparison’s sake, they only won six games in Michigan Stadium from 1966 to 2003.

8
As mentioned above, the Buckeyes have won eight straight meetings with Michigan. That’s the longest streak in Ohio State’s history against the Wolverines.

You might also remember the second-longest streak for OSU in The Game. It happened from 2004 to 2010.

So yes, there are kids who are old enough to drive now who have only seen Michigan win The Game once in their entire lives.

Oh, and those kids are also the same age as current college football recruits.

The only team to ever win nine straight meetings was Michigan. And like many of the Wolverines’ major accomplishments in this series, it happened at least partly before the airplane was invented.

Michigan won each meeting with Ohio State from 1901 to 1909, before the teams were even in the same conference.

29
A year after scoring 62 points against Michigan, the 56-point outburst on Saturday probably seemed like an offensive slump.

But the 29-point margin of victory ranks as the 7th-biggest the Buckeyes have ever put up in the series.

Two came during the Rich Rodriguez era (37-7 in 2010 and 42-7 in 2008), which shouldn’t really count.

Outside of those games, the Buckeyes haven’t laid that big of a butt-kicking on the Wolverines in more than 50 years.

The only other blowouts that big came in 1934 (34-0), 1935 (38-0), 1961 (50-20), and 1968 (50-14).

Don’t Let Frequency of Great Performances Overshadow History Being Made

Justin-Fields-TD-Michigan-1170x780.jpg

Ohio State went into Ann Arbor on Saturday and beat Michigan for an eighth-consecutive year.

It was their 15th win in 16 games, and 17th win in the last 19 meetings.

Some would call it ‘old hat,’ but if the new hat fits so great and looks so good every year, it’s okay to admire it for its individual beauty. There is no reason to just toss it on your pile of other hats. You need to admire them and set them out so that they can be appreciated.

And that’s what Buckeye fans need to make sure they do with yesterday’s win over the Wolverines.

I know it won’t be taken for granted. But things happened in that game that generally don’t happen in that game. Players had performances that aren’t that easy to come by, and just because they are becoming more frequent against Michigan doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be acknowledged.

For instance, freshman wide receiver Garrett Wilson caught three passes for 118 yards and a touchdown, and in doing so he joined a fairly exclusive group. He became just the eighth Buckeye to ever have 100 receiving yards in a game against Michigan.

He joined Parris Campbell (192, 2018), Ted Ginn (104, 2006), John Frank (123, 1983), Santonio Holmes (121, 2003), Brian Stablein (111, 1992), David Boston (217, 1998), and Michael Jenkins (132, 2003) in the Buckeyes’ Century Club.

I’m not sure if you’ve seen the Ohio State record books in a while, but that’s a decent group to be listed among, and yet none of them were true freshmen like Wilson is.

Last year, Chris Olave made his mark in this game as a true freshman with two touchdowns catches and a blocked punt, but even those two receptions went for just 48 yards total.

Junior running back JK Dobbins also joined an exclusive group, as he does just about every week.

He now joins Archie Griffin as the only two Buckeyes with more than 4,000 yards rushing. Dobbins is now at 4,113 yards rushing in his career, and is only a little under 1,500 yards away from overtaking Griffin as the all-time rushing leader at Ohio State.

Great article by Orr, and great post, Script! It was mentioned that there are kids that are now old enough to drive (or words to that effect) that have only seen ttun beat OSU once in their lifetimes? True enough, but they almost lost that game as well.

And just for the record, they won against a team with a completely broken spirit. Proves that the only way those big-mouthed scumbags can win against us is to kick us when we're down. What an accomplishment. :grr:
